Here we go with the excuses again. Say what you want about Rick and Wanny but this loss (or any loss this year for that matter) can't be pinned on them anymore. I don't want Saban to become Dave Wannstedt but the fact of the matter is that a good coach, takes advantage of their opponent's weakness (Atlanta's run defense). Especially when the opponent's weakness is your team's strength (running game). A good coach also puts the ball in the hands of your best players (Ricky and Ronnie) and away from the weak links (Frerotte). Ricky and Ronnie were our strength today and we didn't give them the ball quite nearly enough. The coaches dropped the ball here no doubt.

The major flaw in your assumption is that the run, run, etc would result in a punt as so often happened with Wanny. The major difference is that we have two effective running backs and a O Line that is finally able to block for the run. What we do lack this year is an effective QB.

I agree that having a QB who can run Linehan's offence is a priority this off-season.

Also, how many times are we gonna run a reverse? I don't even thek we threw it down the field once today.

The OL let no sacks, hurries or hits, yet all he did was 13 of 22, 1 int a miss that would have been a TD. Send him to MINN.

Good point, man! We don't need to run the ball every time! Right now the running game is this team's key strength, however. Sure, I'd like to pass more to clear up the 8-man fronts for R&R......but we simply don't have the QB to do that right now. Gus is not lighting up the field and for that reason we need to run more than we'd like. The other thing is the bad play calling, obviously. We run when we should pass and more importantly, pass when we should run.

I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Clearly the running game isn't broken and that's what is gonng put the W's on the board for us.
