Well, in your opinion, how did Culpepper look against the Titans?

Dispite horrible playcalling and offensive line play, both as usual, he managed the game pretty well and made plays when they needed to be made. Defense looked like they were going to give the game up until T-Dan was given a gift, and Culpepper came out and hit Welker on a beauty on 3rd & 8 [I think] for the clincher.

Can't ask for much more, given the horrible line play & playcalling..

I thought the offensive playcalling was better in this game. Good job sticking with the run more than they did in the past two games. The reverses worked really well. I thought Culpepper looked better. Not good, but okay. He had that one fumble, but other than that no big mistakes. It seemed like when he got sacked this game, it was more to do with the weak pass protection than him holding the ball too long.

One bad call... why in the world would you call a flea-flicker with OUR offensive line. Twice its been called this season and both times it turned into a busted play.

Culpepper is not looking good at all. The line isn't looking good either, so that is an unhealthy combination. The blame can be laid on both. If the line is struggling, Culpepper should know this and get rid of the ball quicker. He has held the ball too long on several of the sacks and has had opportunity to throw the ball away instead of taking a sack. The offensive line isn't protecting well. (Wasn't this line supposed to be improved over last years line? IS IT? Yikes, it's bad).

Culpepper still isn't getting anything behind his throws. They aren't getting to the receiver as fast as they used to. He throws flat flooted most of the time and gets zo zip in his throws. He throws to the dump off too much - though not quite as much this game as the last two.
I'm not impressed by him. I hope I'm wrong about him, but I just don't see him getting much better, which is a bad thing. The offensive line has room to get better. I think we've seen Culpepper's best and we've now seen his worst. Which Culpepper do the Dolphins have? That's the million dollar question. Right now, it isn't looking very good.

He looked like he was totally lost. On one of the sacks, he was literally standing there for a good 3-4 seconds in one position, not moving around, seemingly totally unsure what he should be doing.
He's a disaster for this team.

Culpepper is still a year away from being in the physical shape and lower body strength he needs to be the QB he can be.

For all those posters who homered the "non-believers" who stated Culpepper would not be ready until week 8 or later, well you got what you wanted. How ya feeling now?

No matter how many steriods or miracle procedures are performed on the human body, it still requires TIME to completely recuperate full health (or as near as it can be). And in the NFL, the gap between a good athlete and a great athlete is measured in inches and seconds. So, if an elite athlete is injured, he's at best "good" until he has full return of his faculties.

So, how for now, it looks like Gus is wearing #8 this year.

And if you still deny the truth and are blaming this on the Line, you are not realizing the (poor) truncated throwing mechanics and lesser fleet of foot that has resulted in Daunte getting chased down from BEHIND by lineman. He's throwing scared, hanging in the pocket too long and can't escape an average rush. And those are mental and physical remnants of his injury. Fact.

He looks somewhere between really bad and not good enough. His leg strength, speed, and quickness are not back, period. We should seriously consider starting Harrington before the season slips away. There, I said it.

I think Culpepper looked better than the previous two games (0 Ints), but he still has a way to go. I blame 90% of the offensive struggle on the o-line. C-Pepp did have a fumble, but it was caused by Kendall Jacox's whiff on a block. C-Pepp does looks very uncomfortable in the pocket, but I believe it's because he doesn't trust his o-line and for good reason. Everytime he was sacked, you can see him yelling at his offensive line. He wasn't getting adequate time to throw the ball, and fuhgetboutit if they blitzed C-Pepp. They have given up 15 sacks in the first three games when we only had 29 for the whole season last year. We will never see the true potential of this offense because of our $#!TTY o-line. We have all the weapons on offense to rip defenses apart, but it's all for nothing if C-Pepp is not allowed the time to get them the ball.

If it's going to slip away under Culpepper, it's going to rocket away, turbo-powered, under Harrington's auspices. There, I said it...

I think it's a stretch to assume his bad play is all related to his injury. I would love to believe that, but I'm just seeing things in his game that are not conducive to winning.

He can't read defenses. The only successful passing plays came from pre-snap reads; plays where he knew where to throw the ball before the snap. When he tried to read the defense, you could see the smoke coming from his ears. I had heard that Linehan in Minny only asked Pepper to focus on one half of the field for any given play; that's not something that you want to have to do with your starting quarterback. Because he can't read defenses he holds the ball way too long and he gets sacked because he has zero pocket awareness. I'm really starting to worry about Daunte. The offense looks downright horrible right now with him in there.

Granted the O-line has not been that great, but at least 10 of those can be related to Culpepper holding the ball too long. Frerotte was very good at knowing when to get rid of the ball; Culpepper seemingly has no clue back there.
