Wembly Stadium, terror threat?

With all the attempted terror stuff going on in the UK. Wembly Stadium has already hightened security for a concert that is supposed to take place soon. ( According to CNN) Im sure there will be many more events to take place there before the Dolphins game. But kind of worries me a little, ill be honest.

Hopefully, we wont be talking about this stuff in October.

It's definitely a threat IMO. A 2-for-1. But if they can secure the Super Bowl and the Olympics, they can do this.

You couldn't get within a mile of Dolphin Stadium during the Super Bowl. I bet the security will be double that for this game.

No, NFL games continue. The only times NFL games were almost postponed, was last year when there were threats on NFL games.

Yeah we've had the threat of the IRA for most of the last 90 years until recently (and always the French :sidelol:) and last year when we had problems with people blowing up tube trains security was really tight.

I work for Merrill Lynch in the City of London and security was noticably higher on Friday afternoon and all the secuity restriction will come back in now as well

Dealing with terrorists threats is nothing new for British security.They have been doing it for decades since the IRA used terrorism as a means to forward their agenda.

Also they probably have more security cameras installed in public venues than an other nation.

If they managed to be awarded the Olympics its because they convinced the committee that their security is top notch.

I don't know how the mind of a terrorist works, but it seems to me like they don't target the big events. While it would appear that the Wembly game would be a huge target, they seem to attack areas they know they can get away with it. I doubt they would target this game, because they probably realize how strong the security will be.

it will be business as usual. The only people in danger will be the players of the new york giants as the dolphins beat them from every direction.

I agree with you, they are going after softer targets. I personally am flying out to the game and am not worrying about what terrorists might do. Screw them.

Knowing this is the first attempt at this and i am sure the NFL and UK want it to happen in the future you can bet that the security will be intense.

I am not just talking MI-5 but I am sure US security will be there too. So you will have the two countries coming together to secure this.

I just want to tell those that are going, do not get upset with the security in place. Yes it will be a hassle and a pain but it is there for your safety.

I know when i went to time square after September 11th for New Years that pat downs and questions from security got annoying because they were so frequent.
