so we are 1-4 now. barring a miracle, the playoffs are more or less out of reach. now its time to start playing like a team that has nothing to lose instead of playing it conservative. if Saban double clutches, or wimpily tosses out a challenge flag one more time, i'm calling for him to be fired. we are 1-4! who cares if we lose a timeout? your record at this point is going to be more harmful to your job than any wrong decision within the game. i'm tired of Saban getting this free pass with a lot of fans just because he's firey. so what? i could go out there and scream up a storm too:tantrum: , doesnt make me a good ball coach. and all these people saying 'he's rebuilding'; he came in and had a pretty good foundation for a team as it was, our 4-12 season was mainly because of Ricky's bailout leaving us high and dry, and the year previous we were 10-6. so he inherits a playoff caliber team coming off a bad year and we start the season 3-7. unnacceptable. and now even worse we're 1-4. Saban is putting too much focus on cleaning house of the past regime and bringing in 'his kind' of player, just bring in guys who can play and will give 100% effort. thats all i have, i'm done.

You may be right. The key to Shula's success was working with the talent he had.

On the flip side of that, however, is Belichick. He has been very successful building a team that conforms to "his" philosophy.

Fire saban after 2 years? One of which was a winning season? Second is only 5 games in. You have to give a coach time, i say atleast 3 years. That gives him time to get the personel he wants and get everything goin. Lets be realistic and realize that it takes time to get a superbowl. I almost hate that we were a darkhorse superbowl pick, because now everyone wants to fire everyone on the dolphins staff. Saban IS a good coach and will get us to the promised land, maybe just not this year. We lose next week to the jets and were prolly done for.

He inherited a playoff caliber team? Dude....STOP IT!

Who cares if we lose a timeout? Yah, what the hell, lets burn them all right away so we can't stop the clock.

The 2004 "playoff caliber" team had the worst offensive line in team history, NOTHING at quarterback, no running backs, big salary cap problems and a defense that was getting old all at once. Saying they were a playoff team is simply dillusional.

Saying we went 4-12 because Ricky quit is rediculous. It's an excuse.

This team had NOTHING when Saban arrived. They went 10-6 the previous year. What did that bring us? NOTHING, we missed the playoffs.

The Wannstedt years were a complete and total failure. Cleaning house and bringing in depth, youth and a new mentality was REQUIRED. Rebuilding takes patience, something you clearly lack.

I hate to tell you but Saban needs at least 4 years to rebuild this team in the state the he got it. Does anybody not remember that team that we had that year. The worse football that I'd ever seen, even counting this season. Saban get time to get his players in place and get them used to the system. He just needs to get the players he thinks are good and stick with them for a couple years. Once he does that he will be a good coach, he is going to be a great coach.

We had a good defense that year. Ours isn't bad this year but is paper thin and lacks any type of playmakers in the secondary.

Your right we did have a pretty good defense that year, this year though it seems like were good on first and second down but when it gets to third down we get burned all the time. To hold NE like we did and lose just shouldn't happen. The turnovers killed us along with the missed fieldgoals.
