As far as I'm concerned, we're an 8-8 team until we start performing like a winning team on the road. I'm still optimistic about the future and will enjoy the rest of the season, but I think it's time to expect 7-9 or 8-8 instead of 9-7 or 10-6 with a possible wildcard slot.

I'm interested in finding out which QBs are possibly going to be available in FA next offseason. Does anybody know? Oh, and how many good QB prospects are going to be available in the draft next year?

Oh, and Ronnie Brown is THE MAN. I love him. What a great pick. I can't wait to see how the Ronnie/Ricky combo works out.

I'm extremely confident that Saban is going to build a monster of a defense, and I'm quite confident that Ronnie is going to be a reliable 1400-1600 yard rusher. If we can find an exceptional QB via trade/draft/free agency this offseason (Can you say, "Philip Rivers"?), we have a good chance of getting to the Super Bowl a year or two from now.

I agree whole heartedly............8-8 is right....I believe it. Hey its an improvement from last year....and its heading in the right direction.

These were two real tough road games so far. The home teams were coming off big losses and had a lot to prove. Bad timing and bad luck for us.

The 2-1 start while great, is the worst thing for us (in terms of making everyone believe we are a better team than we really are)....we are still a 7-9 team, which in my mind is a great year after last and a good building block for next year...I just hope that if we don't make the playoffs or have a winning record that everyone jumps off the Saban bandwagon, bc I believe he'll be great....he just really needs to get our team disciplined

8-8 Season

We are unbeatable at home and daisy's on the road. 8-0 Home...0-8 Road.

Look at it this way, how many people thought we would be 2-2 when Ricky came back?

I didn't want to rain on everyone's parade, but as I saw all those idiotic threads about how we were going to smash the Bills and go 12-4, all I could do was shake my head.
This team doesn't have the talent to make the playoffs this year. We have a sub-mediocre offensive line, a journeyman mistake-prone QB and a horrible, horrible, horrible defensive backfield. We are NOT a playoff team. If we go 8-8 it will be about the best we can do.

THANK YOU SIR. You just saved me a lot of wasted keystrokes.

What. He. Said.

I'm actually going to say 9-7. I think we will be competing for a wild card up until the final week of the season. I think we lose the final game to New England and miss the playoffs. This team is however, definetly going in the right direction.

I believe that we will make the playoffs if we stop the stupid idiotic penalties and mistakes....... we will be 8-8 if we dont.

6-10 if Gus remains our QB throughout the season

oh come on Gus wasnt that bad he was just playing catch up all day and the bad play he made was throw that INT in the endzone but other than that he didnt have an extremely horrible game.... what can u do if any play u do comes back with a penalty or every drive u start gets pushed back because of penalties...

I said that this team is in the big group of teams that will finish between 6-10 and 10-6 all offseason, and I have seen nothing to change that analysis so far. If the team goes on a tear in the last 5 or 6 games, they might be a playoff team. If they go cold in that timeframe, the team might have a pick in the 8-12 range in the draft. That's today's NFL for you. It's parity.

What is with the Gus hating? He has played FINE this season. Perfectly serviceable which is all we could have asked for. Today, it seemed like we were airing it out in the 2nd quarter as if the game was almost over and we were desperate for some big scores- it made NO SENSE! Once he got into his groove on the second half, doing what he does best with short slants and getting rid of the football, he looked very good. He even ran the ball effectively for crying out loud! He threw a great long ball to Marty and some nice mid range ones to Chris. Enough with the Gus hating. Do some of you realize that it could have been AJ FREAKIN FEELEY out there today!? The game would have been over way earlier. Gus is making good decisions and keeping us in games. He will be our starting QB all year, so get used to it! Some of you will never be happy- Gus has completely gone beyond my expectations.
