The tempo of our new offfensive scheme, it seems to me, is the perfect weapon to utilize the heat and humidity to our advantage. For the past few years we have not capitalized on this advantage- it was more of an after thought. The owner even goes as far as to request that games be played later in the afternoon thus minimizing this obvious edge afforded to our team from practicing in this atmosphere. I am stoked to see how well our players adapt back to this and if we can really get other teams gassed and wanting to give up.

Go Phins!!

GONNA get HOT in Miami in two ways this year ;)

it'll work great.. assuming our conditioning coaches were fired last season.

Our guys actually huffing and puffing while NE players, training 1400 miles or so north were none the worse for wear was strictly on Tony and his continuing to enable poor coaching. The conditioning coach should have been dismissed on the spot.

If only we hadnt given up our other huge S FLA advantage... the infield dirt at Joe Robbie stadium... Now the Marlins have the dirt all to themselves. How are we supposed to win games without it?

lol... not this again..

Back in the "Good Old Days," we killed opposing defenses by running Csonka, Kiick and Morris around 80% of the game and then hitting Warfield when we needed a big downfield play. By halftime the other team was ready to call it quits. The game sure has changed a lot, but I think you can tire teams out even more in a hurry up West coast offense, but we have to make sure we have well conditioned players, especially lineman. I don't see Incognito and some other Fat - F's, making the team in this hurry up scheme. I think we have only averaged around 16 points a game in the past five seasons....while teams like New England and Green Bay are scoring in the upper 20's. We have to go with the times and open things up more. I am just happy we are done playing Sparano-Ball and settling for way too many field goals in the Red Zone.

If we're able to implement this hurry up WCO efficiently, and execute precisely while having all players playing on one accord...watch out! Winning the first game at Houston is very crucial. We've never beaten this team, and it would be nice to start out 1-0 for a change. It would give us huge momentum to really carry out this strategy at home. I'm confident in the staff Coach Philbin has put together, and fully expect everyone to be prepared week 1 condition wise.

We just need to get rid of the practice bubble and then we could really condition ourselves an advantage over visiting teams. As t is we're no more used to playing in the heat than most teams.

The heat advantage has been reduced by allowing a/c blower units, chilled benches, improvised tarps, and saline IV's, plus the usual sports drinks for the visiting teams.

It will still be hot, but most teams now can deal with it better than 10-46 years ago.

And that's why the #1 objective is to keep the defense on the field with the hurry up offense so that they won't have access to all the stuff that you mentioned.

Funny that New England beat us last year using our weather advantage against us....

But the Raider, 49ers, Cardinals, Bucs, etc.... also have the same advantage.

Cold, heat.......I never gave a **** and we played in North Carolina. We got every season.

"Get in there, hit mother****ers hard, fast and often until they go away."

"Always trail the play. Trail the play long enough, and something good will happen."

Phrases that I see as sage wisdom, not only for sports, but for life.

All this bull**** about heat and cold. It's all mental. You know what kills will?

LOSING in the heat. LOSING in the cold.

Don Shula was a master of using the weather to our advantage.

heck, he would even use the rain to our advantage. One time he told the grounds keepers to remove the tarp from the field and let the field get soaking wet and muddy. He did this so that we could run the ball down their throats on a muddy field.
