We're going to interview Ken Wisenhunt. | FinHeaven - Miami Dolphins Forums

We're going to interview Ken Wisenhunt.

Having Saban gone has really added interest to this offseason. The playoffs are almost an afterthought for me, as I wonder who'll be coaching in Miami in 2007.

I'd rather not see Capers or Mularky, and probably not Bates due to age. I'm more in favor of an offensive-minded coach, like Wisenhunt.

The man will be busy though, as the other teams in need are looking at him also. I don't think he'd stay in Pittsburgh, as they already won a Super Bowl, and he'll be compared to Cowher all the time. That makes Atlanta, Arizona, and Miami the real choices.

Arizona won't offer enough money, so it's down to Atlanta and Miami, I guess. I'd think, unless he believes in Michael Vick, that he'd prefer to come to Miami and avoid having a QB forced upon him that he might not want.

I'm tossing out ideas as I go though. :D

I'd be happy with Whisenhunt. Could be the next Eric Mangini or Sean Payton.

I said it Monday and it looks like it's going to happen. Chan Gailey will be interviewed and it make perfect sense. I hope he gets the job because Cowher would cost us a draft pick which I'm not in favor of giving up this year. Let me remind everyone again, Gailey has worked with Capers, and Mularkey in Pittsburgh. In fact Whisenhunt and Mularkey both worked under
Gailey in Pittsburgh and he knows our offense better than anybody since he's the architect. Remember also that he actually made Jay Fiedler look like a decent QB his first 2 seasons here and we all know how bad Fiedler was after he left. This is great for continuity and makes the rebuilding process a little faster. I'm just glad they will at least talk to him.

I hate to piss all over the Wisenhunt talk, but doesn't the performance of the Steelers offense this year concern any of you? It's enough to give me pause.

So what are you trying to say? Whisenhunt as HC, and Gailey as OC?
that wouldnt be bad at all!!

Whisenhunt will be the next Steelers head coach by the end of the weekend after Cowher retires today.

I think the point was more that Gailey was brought in to pick his brain about the potential for Wisenhunt coming in as HC and salvaging this offense Mularkey screwed up.

The performance of the Steelers offense was more Ben Roethlisberger's fault than anything else. Sure Wisenhunt called the plays but it was Ben who threw alot of bad passes.
Willie Parker also set team records for rushing yards in a game twice.

I don't really see skapegoating Big Ben. It's not as though the team was great in the period without him. It's also not his fault that the Parker running game you laud disappeared in a large number of games.

You're pissing on your foot, Pittsburg had the #7th ranked offense this year. :sidelol:

Ben threw more ints this year than he had his first two combined. When you design your team to be as mistake free as possible, that is not a good thing.
Teams started to stack the line to see if Ben could beat them and more than a few times he didn't.
There was also a slight change in philosophy to appease Big Ben. He wanted the offense to open up more and it cost them several games.

Losing The Bus hurt their short yardage offense too.

Try 13th, and try telling me with a straight face that what happened there was quality offense. This isn't baseball, man -- it's not all about statistics.
