we're starting to get some media attention

Good read... no matter how good miami does, I dont see BP firing Sparano to resume coaching

Yeah there is no way in hell Parcells takes over coaching this team. Not with the hell the Cowboys put him through. He's much too old and concerned about his own health to be put through another tough loss like the Romo bobbled snap game.

Perhaps Sparano agreed that Jake Long was the best player in the 2007 draft. You just get the feeling that his opinion didn't really matter. Then came the acquisition of Chad Pennington

what a moron

how many years have we had of the HC's undue input on the draft and trades? it did us alot of good didn't it?

the coach and GM should decide on what is needed but not necessarily who should fill the needs.

BTW, thanks for picking awful defensive players there Wanny. constantly looking for that 3rd CB put us in a world of I&#@

Saban wasn't much better

There should be a system of checks and balances in place. There are great GMs in the league, there are great coaches in the league, and in almost every case where both of them are found together there's a healthy respect, good working relationship, and constant communication between them.

Dolphins are on the incline. Hopefully we keep climbing with good develoupment and pick-ups.

Regarding Long, I'm quite sure it was Tonys' choice.

BP tends to rebuild defenses first, tony was an oline coach.

There wasn't a DL worthy of #1 overall this year, IMO. Glen Dorsey has an injury history and doesn't seem to fit a 3-4 defense all that well. Chris Long is a tweener for a 3-4, too big for OLB (and doesn't know the position) and WAY undersized for a 3-4 DE. Jake Long was the only lineman on either side of the ball that made sense.

Chris Long is a BP type player with rave reviews from friend Al Groh.

From Nfl combine profile.......
"Plays and practices hard and with a purpose, showing good effort and toughness throughout the play...Leads by example, as well as with his voice, as the coaches encourage the younger players to emulate his great work ethic...Can handle tough coaching and is harder on himself than the staff is when he fails to make a play or blows an assignment..."
BP type!

"With his pad level and in-line instincts, he could also earn quality minutes as a defensive tackle in a 4-3 alignment, but is more ideally suited to play defensive end in a 3-4 formation."

As to his not knowing the OLB position, it didn't stop BP from turning DE Ware or DE Ellis into LBers! Or Matt Roth?

HaHa...they said 2007 draft with Long, not 2008. Those FoxSports guys are really on top of their game.
