There were many times where I saw us with Ferguson AND Solia as two D-tackles in their with two D-ends. I dont know if that was a nickel package or not but I liked it!
Also safety blitzes were awesome! Even Gibril Wilson could do that, and he looked good doing it too. We might have found a place for him. I'd like to see the speedy Clemons blitzin some too.
Also, did anyone else notice Joey Porter getting subbed out A LOT..

Also, I said in another post that I like the idea of playing 3 Safeties instead of 2 ILB's for large portions of the game. Bell and Wilson might not be great in coverage, but they're both a lot better than either of our ILB's, and they make more plays around the line of scrimmage. Clemons plays better deep. With some creativity - hate to use that word with our current DC - I think we could cause confusion.

I think this FO might be alittle bit ahead of us in terms of expectations week to week. I dont think our team goes in each week with a mind set that they are going to do the same things week to week. What is hopefully about to happen right now is...ginn gives us great field position if they kick to him and if they dont we will still have great field position. we will be in a better position right now field position wise during the next weeks..I wouldnt doubt even seeing Turner come in a game and completly change the outlook of games.. I think they wanna win but they dont want to put everything on the table everyweek. I.e pat white usage..maybe even turner usage..we have yet to see kory sheets get involved..and haynos might be emerging as a good red zone target now as well...we have more options now that ginn has shown he can take it to the house..everyone keeps talking about threats well now we have a special teams threat atleast..thats like the quickest way to score 7 pts...cant wait for this week..You know we arent scared to re invent ourselves against the pats

Porter has been subbed a bit more recently, not enough in my opinion. He is over-rated and yes I know he is coming off a hamstring injury. He is terrible against the run and below average in coverage, he used to be better in these avenues in Pitt. Ah, but he is a great pass rusher, NOT! Has become an average pass rusher at best, he has become a liability out there and should be a spot player.

Hammy injuries can have a huge effect on a player that needs to use that muscle for leverage and burst on every freakin play. Sorry Porter has been average this year but he's playing hurt.

I agree.. You might as well play Roth more..

And play Wake more, because Porter sucks against the run anyway and is bad in coverage ( as you correctly pointed out). At least Wake can learn through experience with more playing time, as Wake has a much higher ceiling at this point in their careers.
