to break a franchise record of most career kick-off returns in only his 2nd year and the record is 123 kick-off returns which seems really low to me but it will be set alot higher the way Welker is going. last year he set the 2nd most returns in a season and he had the 2nd most kick-off return yards for a season for the Dolphins. He is on pace to break every Dolphin record in kick-off returns. He could break both most career kick-off returns and most career kick-off return yards this season. Here are the records and Welker's current stats:

Dolphin records:

most career kick-off returns - 123 (set by Fulton Walker)
Welker's career kick-off returns - 108

most career kick-off return yards - 2947 (set by Mercury Morris)
Welker's career kick-off return yards - 2459

also one thing to keep track of is the most career TDs on kick-off returns which is only 3 which was set by Mercury Morris and Welker currently has 1 TD

and on top of those he is also approaching some punt return records for Miami, to look at these records or any other Dolphin record go to this page
Dolphin individual records

hes supposed to break Derrick Masons record for most yards in a season isnt he...(kr, pr, rushing, receiving)

he is still on pace to break the fins record for total combined yards set by ricky in 02

Damned. Surprised that the # of KO return records wasn't held by someone in the late 80s the way we were scored on so frequently. Must have been struggling to find a decent return guy back then too.

He's only 99 yards away from his season total last year. What I find interesting is he is on the list for the most combined yards for his rookie season, yet he isn't on the list for single season. He should be between Ricky's 2002 and 2003 season also, if those numbers are accurate.

EDIT: I noticed Chamber's and Avery's rookie season combined yards are listed in both sections but, not Welker.

I just ran the numbers for the fun of it. He's averaging roughly 152.5 yards per game this year. That puts him on a 2440 pace. Not too shabby. ;)

EDIT: My bad... according to NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/493735 he is on pace to hit around 2470+.

Saban should resign this guy long-term. he is the next wayne chrebet. don't let him get away, he's too smart, please..............................

Kinda indicative of how porous our how defense has been since we signed him, huh.

But he has been a great signing. I saw him on TV at Texas Tech a bunch and listened to the announcers hype him up. I wanted to draft him, so I was pleasantly surprised when he fell into our laps.

He deserves the record. Santa is getting me a Brown jersey for Christmas and I plan on buying a Wes Welker or Randy McMichael jersey next.

Welker is the man! Miami is lucky to have found him.

Guys, Welker having the record for most kick returns in a single season is not a good thing. That means our defense is giving up a lot of scores.

Funny part about Welker is I feel we're just scratching the surface. He's going to be a great WR for us too.

i'm glad he is doing well but i just wana see him catch a td pass. and maybe another pr ot kr for a td would be cool as well.
