Here's an article on nfl.com that has a little part about Wes Welker. I thought it was nice that Wes has gotten some notice.

"Wes Welker is a young Miami receiver who did some kicking in 2004. In his first two years, he recorded 29 receptions. This year, the quick Welker already has 14 receptions for 167 yards (11.9 yards per catch) and could be a very effective slot receiver all year long and finish up '06 with close to 60 balls."

And this place was up in arms about wanting Welker cut in favor of Vick, too.

I couldn't believe that people wanted to cut a proven producer like Welker to take a chance on an unproven thug in Vick. Welker has been Mr. Reliable for us this season, and I think he'll only get better the more opportunities he gets. Besides, if he draws more coverage, it frees up Chambers and Booker in single coverage.

Wes is the Man

Wes is the man! He plays all out all the time and he has the biggest heart on the team. Go Wes!!

i saw that article last night but forgot to post it lol
but im glad to see wes doing so good, before this year we knew he was talented, but people around the league didn't
which makes our offense even that more dangerous now that welker will be getting more recognition and people like booker, mcmichael, and chambers can step up now

Hopefully with Wes stepping up in the passing game that can open up some other options.

People who wanted Welker cut for Vick were just talking mess (atleast I hope they weren't serious, he is the typical player u want on your team). . . I was in favor of putting Vick on KO returns, and leaving Wes in for the punt returns and slot WR duties. Wes is nifty and shifty as they come, which is crucial on punt returns (tho I have seen him make some REALLY BAD errors the last year and 3 games, he is still GREAT), but doesn't have that burst needed to break a Kick return to the outside. Vick I think could have grown into the position . . he seems to have solid hands and much better speed . . . but overall Vick going to the PS was the ideal situation for me, glad he made it, hopefully he can contribute next year on the 53 man roster.

wes will get national respect, when he's money in madden... he's rated like 73 or something... and they didnt give him his mad propers on the pr, and kr's either....just imo...people like to gauge real players talent based on their ratings in the video game... its sad, but trust me, they do.

If you're a Miami Dolphins' fan, and you aren't in love with Wes Welker, there is something wrong with you. 5'9'' 185 pound undrafted free agent, you have to have some kind of heart to make it despite those odds.

about time Wes is recognized hes very underated
