Wes Welker is a First Down Machine...

for reasons such as this is why i have been a fan of his since he started playing in Miami. Can't wait till i get my welker jersey
 
At this rate, Welker might end up with the best-selling Dolphin jersey.
 
Love Wes....wish we had another 20 guys with his heart on this team.

Most of us didn't buy that crap. I thought it was funny that even a beat writer or two in Miami thought he might get cut. It's easy to see now how ridiculous that really was. If everybody had Welker's work ethic and intensity we'd be a dominant 2-0 team right now.
 
Chambers can come down with the highlight-reel catches that Welker wouldn't make as often; one-handers, etc. But the rest of the time I wish Chambers had Welker's hands. In fact, that it probably the best way to state my distrust of Chambers:

When I see the ball leave Pep's hand and fly toward Chambers, I hold my breath. When I see it fly toward Welker I just start cheering.
 
Welker is the man and always seems to step it up big time. It's funny that when he gets thrown to he catches the ball and he's the 3rd receiver. When our #1 gets thrown to he drops the easiest balls.

And he showed on Sunday he can flat out deliver one too!

Every time he touches the ball, I have this feeling like he's about to break loose for a long touchdown run...its gonna happen.

Be nice if he started doing that ball spin that McDuffie did after a big catch....I miss that.
 
Welker is being covered by either the 3rd corner, a lb, or a S. I don't see Chambers or Booker getting that luxury. And most of Welkers receptions come on 3rd down, so I would hope most of them gain first downs. I mean, I love the guy, but to say he is unbelievable or a 'god' is just a bit of a stretch. He is merely a very hard working football player who gives 100%.

Also, McDuffie was our number 1 reciever quite often and always managed to get open and get the first down. He's my favorite unsung reciever.

That team wouldn't even make the playoffs. That team wouldn't be able to run the ball, or get a pass off more than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage. Not to mention the defense would get run over.
 
Welker is phenomenal. When I met Wes I told him that in New Jersey they don't have his jersey anywhere. So then I said when I came down in South Florida his jersey was EVERYWHERE! The only way I would be able to get his jersey is if I went to the pro shop and actually bought one. He said he's noticed more fans wearing his jersey lately. Hmmmmmmm I wonder why? :)
