think about it, we've had a chance to win every single game in the 4th quarter except the saints game. reading some of these posts you'd think we're 2-10 and getting blown out every game.

ravens, tied with 3 minutes left
bills, winning with 3 minutes left
pats, winning 17-0 at half, losing by 3 in 4th qtr
bucs, winning early in the 4th qtr.

stinks we lost all those games but we're not that far off.

most teams lose a lot of close games(not my team this year but most teams). Good ones make late plays to win, bad ones do not. yesterday your D stepped up and made plays.

I saw a stat during one of the games yesterday that said there have been more close games this year (teams within 7 points of the lead in the 4th quarter) than any other year in NFL History. I think somewhere around 65% of the games had the teams within 7 points of each other in the 4th quarter.

The Saints game turned into a mess for us when we went for that 3rd and a foot and got stopped and the air went out of the balloon and we folded. We forgot to play the second half against the Pats, but the rest of the games were all decided late.

the fins have been in more 4 points or less games than any other nfl team, in the last 2 years. win or lose.

Coaching..plain and simple.

Doesn't matter if we lose by 1 or 30 it still is a loss. And I would tell you that by games end we were pretty much dominated by the Bucs and the Pats as well as the Saints. Let's not kid ourselves here. We have some severe weaknesses and teams are exploiting them. Run defense is weak, pass protection, and inability to run the ball. We need an infusion of talent that we missed on this year. We just are not there yet.

This is a league of parity and that will be what separates the good from mediocre from bad. Young teams like ours will lose some bad ones they should have been able to pull out. It's frustrating, but there is a good future with our core squad.

Totally disagree with the Patriots game, you may need to watch that game again and find where Miami was dominated ever in the game other then probably the Pats have more men on the field working for them to win then the Dolphins.

I would say the part where they scored 24 points in the second half and we scored 0.

1. Well what about the part where a Miami defense has position on receiver, and is called PA (7 points that never should have happened).

2. Miami has the ball, Receiver goes out for pass, DB does not look back, but instead waves are up and down, no flag, if the right call had been made, that would mean Miami would have been close to at least a FG.

3. Miami defender strips ball, at the very least it should be a dead ball, and it's 4th down (another 7 points that never should have happened).

-Not to mention a few one sided calls here and there when the Patriots needed them most-

It's tough enough to beat the Patriots in New England, but when the Dolphins have to also play against the REfs...impossible to win, but not because the Patriots dominated....if anything Miami dominated in the 1st half, the Ref made sure that did not happen in the 2nd half.

Just think, next year we can replace Carpenter and that alone will win us another 5 games.

Crap, it's 2013 isn't it. Sorry, I had this post confused with an identical one from last year.

no **** its still a loss but to say there's no difference between losing every game by 1 or 30 points is wrong becuz it makes a big difference. I'll explain it for ya, you lose by 3 or less every week your at least competing if you lose by 14 or more points frequently then youre not and your team completely sucks. this team definitely needs upgrades at positions and coaches but we are not as bad as people on finheaven make it out to be. I'm not happy with being mediocre but i understand what the op is saying and I think with some upgrades and players already on this roster we can be a good team. we need a big time tight end. clay is versatile and a good jack of al trades player but we need a jimmy graham kind of tight end. obviously other things but I think they're pretty obvious.
