I may get flamed for this, but I believe WH's response to Saban's resignation was right on. Some have criticized WH for not showing anger or vinsdictiveness towards Saban. I believe his reaction as perfect and showed a lot of class, grace and maturity. Here's a couple or reasons why I think this:

1. If WH had reacted with anger and vidictiveness he would have lowered
himself to Saban's level. By reacting with grace, WH made Saban look like
the weasel he is. Saban can never say that WH is a bad owner or hard to
work for. I listened to WH press conference and my thought was, "How
could Saban do that to such a nice guy." If elt sorry for WH. He came out
looking like the victim of betrayal and Saban came out looking like the
betrayer. WH handled this exactly right.

2. If I was a coaching candidate, WH is the kind of owner I would like to work
for. He's not going to be a hard head or a jerk to work for. If WH had
reacted with anger and bitterness, he would only attract another Saban.
WH showed CHARACTER and in doing so showed that Saban has NONE.
I think we would all agree that our next coach should not only be a great
coach, but should also be a man of great character (ala Shula). We need a
man who will keep his word to the owner, players, coaches and fans, not
another fraud. WH's response will attract men who have some CHARACTER
which is exactly what this franchise needs.

In my opinion, WH acted with grace under fire. He showed a lot of character and class. I'm glad he's the owner. He's the kind of man you would want for a friend or a boss.
 
I agree. All Wayne wants is to win. I have a feeling he isnt too sad to see Saban go. This team hasnt gotten any better since Wannstache left.
 
Wayne is somethin else. After everything that happened he just turned the other cheek and went on with his franchise. This wasnt the business man in him, this was just the man. He showed heart, he showed integrity. "its all about winning." Those words were symbolic. Sure they've been said before, but thats like claiming the colors of our flag have been overused. Wayne showed how great of a decision maker, and a man, that he is. Im proud hes the owner of the Dolphins.
 
Glad WH is getting some props on this site ... normally folks bash him -- for what I have NO idea ...

He hires what he believes are good people with references from allegedly smart football minds and does whatever he can to put them in a positive environment .... he does everything but play the game and win for you !
 
Absolutely. How many owners do you know who would take the heat for the coach that just quit on him, by going to the press conference and announcing his resignation FOR him? Nick-the-sick is a COWARD for letting WH do that for him.
No one can fault him for hiring Saban, b/c every NFL team with a HC position available at that time was salivating for and pining after him. WH is clearly a class act... kudo's Wayne!!!!
 
I was also thinking this afternoon how well WH handled the situation and he has definitely stepped up in my books with regards to the organisation. To the typical fan as myself WH keeps a low profile but his declarations today have really made me see him (as it always should have been instead of putting this responsibility on the HCs) as the true flag bearer for the Dolphins. The one stable presence we will always be able to turn to in times such as these when you are wondering who the f... gives a sh... about this organisation who is directly involved in it (to seperate him from D Shula, D Marino et all). His comments about winning although painfully obvious to any owner showed he had a spark there that I didn't know existed until now. Hopefully he can keep up the good intentions getting a great coach.
 
Good press conference. I like this part - "I don't care what it takes, what it costs and what's involved. We're going to make this a winning franchise!" :dolphins:

i agree 100%, WH is a class act and any coach should be honored to play for him. his positive atitude will bring about the right coach for the job not to mention that he does look like the victim comming out of the whole saban mess and hopefully will get the last laugh at saban

I had not even considered how Wayne's PC today will only attract more people to the job. What's better than a commited, passionate, hands-off owner dedicated to winning?

Wayne H. was the only saving grace. There is no way I could go out there and say I would be rooting for Bama. No way no how.

I have no doubt that all he wants to do is win at no expense and that quote says it all. Having him as the owner makes this whole situation easier to handle IMO.
 
Yeah, if I was an hc i'd love to work for Wayne. I could totally screw over the team and its fans and then have him tell me he loves me.

I'd like to believe Wayne has everything under control and is just exhibiting an extraordinary level of restraint, but you have to be a little bit worried that maybe he doesnt have things under control and his actions are desperate and borderline insane.

Wayne showed exactly why he's been so successful in his endeavors.

The guy knows what to say regardless of what he might be feeling inside. He handled this situation with class.

I have great respect for the man and I believe that with him and the officers he has in place in Weidmeir and Bailey we still have a very bright future. Saban has set us back without doubt but I do believe that the staff behind the scenes is one of the top staffs in the NFL and we'll be fine.
 
this is a non biased decision but wayne is the best owner iin the league imo and not just because of recent events
 
As a human Wayne is a class act. As far as a football team owner he has looked stupid how many times now?
