What's up Finsoups, errr..fin fans...er...Just kidding, HELLO FIN PEOPLE!
I haven't had much time to post on here since the end of the season, and of course my anger towards GUS! :-) J/K! In reality, we just started a Chargers website for our local newspaper and that is taking up most of my time, it's called Chargers Football Xtra, or CFX. I would like it here, but dont want to irrate your mods. Let me know if you want to see it, we've been working hard on it and very proud how its turning out!
Now that football season is upon us, I hope you don't mind me invading your board once again! :tantrum:

I like the moves you have made, not neccessarily the addition, but rather the subtraction of certain players. I've always said your team needs to give the ball to #23 exclusively and let this kid RUN WILD! Now that #34 is gone, we can gauge this guys ability! I LOVE #55, but the time has come to hang em up, there's rumors about #55 playing in Oakl. I would be VERY surprised if he does this. Besides the business ramifications that his restaurant would have here in Diego, his popularity would honestly go down! And of course there's D.Bo, have you guys cut this guy yet? He's taking up roster space, might as well keep Welker as an extra receiver/special teams over keeping this waste.

The question that remains is Culpeppers ability to control the offense (IMHO). Yes, the guy has an amazing cannon of an arm, but having a back like #23 with a solid TE, and receivers that are route runners, Culp needs to be able to make those mid-range passes. There's no doubt Culp can launch the bejeebuz out of the ball, ala, Culp to Moss, but that only gets you so far!

If Im right, Culp won't start the first few games right? I'd be very interested to see how Joey runs this offense now that he has weapons on both wings + a back + a TE + an improving O-line. You have to admit, even I could have made better draft picks than his GM out in Detroit.

I think Allen was the smart safe pick. I personally dont know much about him, all I read about the guys was his lack of physical play and past injuries. Obviously it was a decision made to address a need. Similar to our draft, it was filled with NEEDS vs. what "experts" think we should get. I think Cromartie is going to be come a monster, I've seen him during off-season coaching sessions and mini-camp, the dude is fast! Any FSU fans in here care to elaborate about Cro?

Alright guys, looking forward to chatting with you guys again! All my luck and hope all your players have a injury free training camp! Much luck until you guys play us in the playoffs;-)

D.Bo is cut, and has been signed by Tampa Bay.

Also, C-pep has a career completion % of 64.4% (all-time NFL leader).
I'm not worried about his ability to hit the "mid-range" passes.

Pep throws over 70% on the short and intermediate routes..

We did not re-sign Boston but i heard he signed w/ the Bucs. And so did feidler(ears)...

Thats a good stat! Speaking of QB's. We were at mini-camp shooting for our site and have some great pics of Feeley! I'll post them here later! I know you guys really care abou thim

LT...good to have you back bro... we are getting all jazzed up. Our coach has made upgrades and additions and I really like our potential about mid season to be a force. Hows Marty and your new starter at qb getting along?

Thanks cnc, good to see you! Where's the rest of the jailbirds? Must be out to lunch!

Drew Brees was a loss, but I've always said, THERE IS JUST SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT RIVERS. I dont know what it is, but having had conversations with him, and interviewed him--this guy has "THAT" thing you want in a player.

Brees, although I wish him the best of luck, will suffer in NO. I hope he heals 100 percent, but for him to not accept the offer that was given to him, was DUMB.

I think he has 12 million reasons why he was smart...especially with AJ smith trying to do his whole power struggle thing...

I agree. Brees will regret going to New Orleans. He probably already is regretting it. But all those millions softens the blow.

Welcome back L.T. PM the site if you get a chance. I'd like to check it out.

That is the FUNNIEST line I've heard in a while! HOWEVER, Im guilty as well..I was sooooo EXCITED to have D.Bo in lightning Bolts! however his effort, priority, wearing colored contacts, etc.....STILL BUGS ME TO DEATH!

Brees

Nothing against Drew, but you know what? From what im feeling right now the dolphins are the ones who got the better of the deal here. C-PEP will be soo much better for us, I cant imagine drew baby having a better stats in N.O than he would have had here in Miami!!!!!!! Besides just think about the coaching staff (last time I checked we have 23/24 coaches, thats like 2 players to every coach ). HMMMMMMMMM Saban is one of the best coaches in the league. Not to mention how Drew arm injury vs a knee injury will play out, only time will tell, but you knew Saban was going to get a Qb and was going to go big on this position this offseason. Looking at the Jets and their QB problem w/ Chad's arm i'm glad its Peps knee not his golden arm. Ohh by the way fellow fin fans.I believe a record of 12-4 is very possible. I see with at least 11 minimum. As far as games i worry about us winning are as follows. PITT, K.C, Ind, Jax and both N.E games of course. The Ind game is last of the season and rosters can be alot different in week 17 than in week 1. Well with so many new coaches with their teams on our schedules it can be what we make it, but W/ the super bowl in miami this season and no team ever playing in a super bowl in there own city, watch out guys and gals cause this might be one great ride this yr, which is why i just got my dolphins digest for the next 3 yrs..YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ....... So good luck DRew Baby in N.o but you might just wonder for yrs to come what could have been had you chose Miami and NICK SABAN.

I tend to agree with you about Rivers. I think he'll be just fine. He'll be like Pennington before the shoulder injuries. That's supposed to be a compliment ;)

Daunte yeah, completes 70% of his short and intermediate passes. Heck of a stat right there. He completes an alarming number of his long ones too. I mean a career completion percentage of 64.4% is astounding, practically unheard of. But, this was a guy that completed over 70% of his passes at UCF if I'm not mistaken.

David Boston WAS wasting roster space but we did finally jettison him.

I'd never heard any evaluation of Jason Allen that said he's not physical enough...but obviously the injuries are an issue. We'll see on that one. For now the dude is ultra-rangey with fantastic leadership, intangibles, tangibles for that matter, the best player in the draft at defending the deep ball, and a sure wrap-up tackle (as opposed to a 'hit man' type).

Antonio Cromartie was a favorite of KB21, Boomer, and myself. We were torn between guys like Cro, Allen, and Lawson.

Umm we refused to sign Brees. He was asking for to much cash and our doctors told Saban he was a no go on the shoulder. We informed Bees we were no longer interested and agreed to keep quiet for 24 hrs so he could sign his deal in N.O.... We then made the trade for pep before the word got oput so they couldn't stiff us for a higher pick. We chose Pep.
