What a Deep Draft on the Defense side of the Ball and the OL .

If Jay Culter is not available at 16 ,should the Phin use the Jimmy Johnson myth.Which gather as many Draft picks as you can.

Here a few scenarios:
Santonio Holmes: I posted a thread about Holmes being a factor ,if Holmes not pick up by the Phil. then there could be as many as 6 team wanting his service (Denver-Seattle-Carolina-Chicago-Dallas-Minnesota)
now these team may not beat down on the Phin door for a Trade but a player like SH could put these teams over the top.

Esp. Carolina and Denver

Tye Hill & Ashton Youboty & Antonio Cromartie :well who looking for a good Cb who has the potential of be a shut down Corner.Hill lack size and Youboty has trouble on deep pass not finding the ball.(Jaguars-San Diego)

Teams like Car.,Den.,Ind. and Sea. are all looking for that one special player to win it all .The chances of this player being a rookie is slim but at 16 these team could found a Ware & Merriman.

Here a Fantasy Trade and Draft:

Phin trade there 16 Pick to Denver and B.Gilmor
Denver send there 22 Pick in the 1st and 3th ,5th rounder

Phin trade there 22 pick f. den. to Jac.
Jacksonville send there 28 pick and there 3rd

Miami now have 28 pick,2,3,3,3,4,5,7,7,7

28 Manny Lawson LB NC State
2nd Richard Marshall CB Fresno St
3rd Brodie Croyle QB Alabama --or --Omar Jacobs QB Bowling Green
3rd Will Blackmon CB Boston College
3rd Fred Matua OG USC

4th Roger Mcintosh UM OLB
5th Jonathan Orr WR Wisconsin
7th Tre Stallings OT Ole Miss
7th Larry Dibbles DT Texas
7th Michael Robinson QB/ATH Penn St

Not the greatest but not to bad either.

Lets get real here...Would you honestly trade to move up 6 spots plus give up a 3rd and 5th round draft pick for Mr.Potential(B. Gilmore) :shakeno:

I could understand Rick Speilman making a trade like that but Denver...
NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN:shakeno:

You are right about the draft being real strong with defensive players
which should help us and you are right about stockpilling draft picks but your scenerio was flawed...and I belive Saben will be much better with the draft than Jimmy J was...at least he has a good start with the last draft.I just wish
M Roth would have had a more dominant season.

Take care,

If a deal like that can across the table, we'd obviously take it. I just don't see Holmes as the type of player that can draw that type of attention to the 16 spot. Cromartie or Winston Justice may have more drawing power.

I like your thinking. This is definitely a draft where you want to get more picks. I think the talent runs pretty deep in the 2-4 round range so I like your scenario with three #3's. I'm a big fan of Lawson and Croyle as well, not real familiar with your ol prospects.

that would not be a fantasy draft that would be a nightmare of a draft besides manny lawson

Then you woke up.....:sidelol:

Ozzy rules!!

wow, did you even try toi think about this one. No teams would trade up like that. Were gonna be stuck with our 16

Actually he did think about it. For Denver to trade up with us and using the draft value chart they would have to give up their 1st, 3rd, 5th to get our 1st. Now if this actually happens I don't it. I really wouldn't mind their 1st and 3rd to move up to 16th. I could handle that if their was no one we really wanted at 16.

 Very far fetched yes, but there are some solid picks there.

This is definitely a fantasy draft. At this point I don't see Croyle making it to the 3rd round nor do I see Will Blackmon playing defense in the NFL. He is much more suited for the offense and kick returning duties.
