With all of this talk about Lamar Gordon and his status on our team, I just felt compelled to bring up a thread from the past. Many agree that he's not worth more than a 5th but let me show you what many were saying last year about 1 year and 2 months ago. It's quite humorous. A couple of posters and myself weren't as gah gah about the move as many as you can see by my post #32

The difference is that Gordon spent nearly all of last season hurt. Also there are many more running backs that were available this offseason compared to last year. Its a supply and demand thing, we were desperate last year and there were very few backs, the Jags arent desperate yet and they have their pick of a few.

:roflmao:

Ha! If only Dominizzo was a poster then........ he'd make the poster who started that thread look like a pessimist.

That thread looks alot like many of the optimistic threads this year. That is why you have to keep expectations somewhat realistic. Tuck away the SB, div title, playoff predictions, etc... and just hope you can be close to .500.

I guess I get no respect for my post huh?

I honestly did not read that far, I apologise, I sit corrected.

ck, Clumpy and phinfan 2003 got it right

phinfan2003 from LAST year this time; The ironic thing about the fan's reaction to Gordon is that many people believe he's going to be the answer @ RB for our team when he hasn't proven anything in this league and they are going by articles written by the media. You hear words such as "steal" and "a big upgrade" associated with Gordon. I really hope he is all of that and a bag of chips but how come people didn't have such nice things to say when we were discussingn A-Train who's a 2 time 1000 yd. rusher? Not many around here wanted him. Said "He wasn't an upgrade over what we have now". Granted, Gordon hasn't had the carries Thomas has but he is still a big risk and we are only touting him based on potential and not production. In fact. A-Train still has a better YPC avg. than Gordon playing behind a weaker line.

dang, can't make anybody happy these daze :goof:
