Started nice with Oakland win, but not only did we lose, everyone we needed to lose won (except for maybe Hou). It is becoming less likely that even if we go 10-6 with the only loss being to NE, we get in. Even if we beat Baltimore, I do not see Baltimore losing another game. There remaining schedule is relatively easy because their tough games (SD,Cle) are at home and they are VERY tough to beat up there. Best hope is for them to win the division, but Cin has tie-breaker over them with the sweep. It's looking more and more likely that we have to run the table to get in. Possible, but extremely unlikely. In all honesty though, Baltimore is still the better team than us until proven otherwise.

Yep. Damn near every game went against us. Don't get too high on Baltimore, the Saints defense is trash. They won't score so easily on us.

I think we can beat them, but it won't be easy. Still, even if we do, we will need them to lose another game, (assuming we lose to NE) and I do not see that happening.

I wonder what the board consensus will be about Philbin et all if we go 10-6 and don't make the playoffs. The popular line has been "playoffs or bust" all year but people seem to be inching away from that every week. I've seen some all out sprints.

On the other hand if we go 9-7... and don't make it, I'd imagine the reaction would be totally different from the one if we went 9-7 and did make it.

It just goes to show people are just groping around looking for someone else or some vague criteria to make their decision for them.

For me, it's simple, I don't care what our record is as long as we get in. Playoffs or bust for me. If we get in, he stays. If not, he goes. That is my opinion. I have been consistent about that since after the last game last year.

Just to clarify. 10-6 and no playoffs and you think we should fire him? But if by some impossible circumstance we went 8-8 and got in... he stays?

I have no idea how you can say that after watching the epic fail the d rolled out against Denver.

Cincinnati and. Pittsburgh play twice one has kc one has denver. 11-5 will win the division for Baltimore

I agree with you, unfortunately. Without the injuries we may have had a chance, but don't think even 10-6 will be enough this year.

Phibin was told he had to make the playoffs. He won't. How the Harbaugh thing plays out will dictate Philbin's future. JMHO but if Harbaugh wants Miami Philbin is done.

Damn guys look at the afc norths schedule they will knock each other down to 10 wins at best with exception to maybe Baltimore.

I'm still not giving up on winning the division. I saw that Detroit blowout coming from a mile away. But do you know what else I see? They'll probably lose at the Packers and/or at the Chargers, they'll probably go 1-1 in those games at best. And the Jets are capable of beating them too. Rex Ryan is in Brady's head, just like our defense is.

I went through the playoff machine and 10-6 could most definitely keep some teams out, including us, but if we get to 11-5 we just need the Patriots to lose 2 of their 3 road games against pretty good teams.

Oh, and 11-5 and the division title would get us the number 2 seed most likely.

Problem is Baltimore has already played everyone in the division except for Cle at home.
