Would you guys like to see Al Saunders as the OC in Miami if he doesn't get a head coaching job this year? He is not going back to the Chiefs after they passed him over for head coach. I think he would be an excellent choice.

Great offensive mind, look at what he did with average players in KC. He really had only had two studs, Priest and Tony G. He made an average Trent Green look like a stud.

Why not? Just because he didn't get the HC job, why would he leave?

he is an excellent offensive mind however i dont think we should be going after these guys that would be head coaches in a year. lets find someone that is willing to stay a while. all the teams that you see having all this great success all have had their staff intact for a while.

Yeah, Trent Green's no better than Fiedler.

I didn't say that, I said AS made Trent Green the player he is today. TG isn't a stud, but under AS system, he performs well.

The same reason Bates left last year, it would be uncomfortable for Saunders to stay. I already read somewhere that he is not going back to the Chiefs.

Totally agree!

green has performed well at every stop in his career. he's an above average qb, no matter who his oc has been. imo you are undervaluing green, he's done well w/ turner, martz, and saunders.

The Fins should call Al Saunders and ask him to be our new Best Friend Forever.

That does seem to be a new trend for Coordinators. Bates has done it twice now. Maybe I'm missing the point but it seems like it would be much easier to be hired as a HC if you are not viewed by the league as a quitter.

Errr and the best OL in football for many years. K.C. proves that you can make marginal players better with a great OL. I still believe Holmes/Johnson are 'solid' RB's made to look great. Everytime I see Johnson break one there's not a DL within 2 yards of him and all he has to do is get by the LB who even at times is taken out by an OL.

This guy is a great coordinator. He bases his offense around the running backs, but throws the ball all over the field as well. Very balanced gameplans, would be the top option IMO better than Martz due to the Martz ego factor and also worked with Martz in ST. Louis when they won the Super bowl.

True, it all starts with the big fat boys up front, but look at the skilled positions, he really only had the two Tony G. and Priest. His receivers weren't really nothing special, the X-factor is a terrible wideout, (great return man).
