I know a lot of fin fans here want Brady Quinn, but why not give DC a chance he has hardley played with us who we just traded a 2nd round pick for him and I think we should use him and give him the chance he deserves.

Boy, get ready for the onslaught, 50% of the posters will back you, the remaining 50% will rip you to shreds on this one. I for one see Daunte coming back and playing well for us, drafting Quinn would then be a mistake because if DC does well for 3-4 years for us, Quinn costs too much to ride the bench for 3-4 years. Did we REALLY need another Pro/Con-Daunte thread? I'm giving you just 1 star for really only managing to open old wounds here, while I agree with your position, I really am sick of these threads and it will accomplish nothing. No-one will be swayed either way, just more fighting and more hatred both directions. Nothing good can come from this thread IMHO.

Edit: I really need to retire as a thread policeman, sorry.

if we draft brady, its still culpeppers job until he proves otherwise.

Most people look at positional pplay in isolation and therefore evaluate poorly. It's the same thinking that causes people to hate on Chambers despite wanting to replace every QB that has thrown him the ball. How can you decide your QB is not good enough and then accurately evaluate the guys whose performance is most tied to that guy?

Culpepper wasn't 100%, played behind a worse OL than Joey and other than sacks played better. It didn't feel good at the time because we were all stoned on SI picking us to win the SB. After we crashed and Joey came in and things improved on OL and we one a couple games people were all "Daunte sucks"...but it wasn't all him or we wouldn't be talking about improving the Ol and we wouldn't be saying "fire malarkey" and "we need an offensive minded HC".

Daunte certainly benifited from playing with Moss, but he is also a very good QB. he wasn't ready, and Malarkey was more interested in Daunte learning the 'Malarkey' way rather than helping the 80% QB along by playing to his strengths. Where was the shotgun for DC? they used it a lot more for Joey.

IMO, Daunte is our best chance to be competitive now. Let's not forget Brady was a 6th round pick while Bledsoe was playing fine. Pennington was a 2nd rounder while Vinny was finishing his career. We need to go with Daunte for the next season or two, look for someone in the draft who can be developed and draft him with value. 2nd & 3rd round.

Culpepper will get his shot. If you think for a second that Cam Cameron and Randy Mueller aren't sitting somewhere praying that Culpepper doesn't return to form, then you're absolutely nuts. It's in the best interest of Cameron, our entire offense, heck the entire Miami Dolphins team, that Daunte Culpepper returns to being the man he used to be. If culpepper can return to being a good QB, there's no telling how far this team can go. If he does not, there is no telling how far this team can fall...

Brady Quinn is going to be a Bust..Im not big on him at all.If we do draft him. I will stand by him 100% because im a huge fin fan,but im just not that big in drafting this guy in the 1st. I rather have Landry and Drew Stanton in the 2nd.

my opinion is this: Daunte was Saban's guy, but Saban is no longer in charge.

I'm not calling for us to draft Quinn, but if Mueller and Cam want him, it's their decision.

So Daunte's future relies on what Cam and Mueller want to do

I agree, he deserves his FIRST chance, thats right, FIRST,the man had no business being on the field when he was,,it just shows how desperate NICK SABAN WAS,,, you don't listen to a man that wanted to be on the field for us the fans even though i knew, you knew and the whole team knew he was'nt healthy, SABAN decided to put him out there,,,think about it, what other options did that punk have,Harrington, whatever!,Cleo, he never started a game in the nfl,,that slime ball pushed daunte out on that field with one leg to save his own *** and i know it!.

He made the decision for daunte, all he was hearing was, how healthy DREE BREES is coming along. The pressure got to nick saban

I would like to say that i appreciate him for jeopadizing his career for us fans,,I respect that.

This is a young man coming off a knee injury,he's been rehabbing for two years, christ,he's gonna be the bionic man come september,,all signs point to him being strong and healthy so i'am not just speaking out my arse.

What i truly don't understand is how my opinion could be so different than some of you on this board,,,i'am a dolphin fan your a dolphin fan, don't we want to see what a man with that kind of talent and that size chip on his shoulder is all about??,wearing our uniform doing so,,I sure as hell do,,plaease don't give me the same lame arguments,,,

uuhhhhhhhh,,dduhhhhh, donte HAVE no moss, daunte no good.

Come on man were better than that,,besides the draft, what other high profile player with the skills of a daunte culppeper have we ever aqquired,,nobody, just a bunch of losers,This man with the right tools around him COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS,,we've seen it with our own eyes.

Down in the depths the man LIKETOGOD" SAID IT PERFECTLY,YOU DON'T JUDGE A MAN ON ONE LEG WHO PLAYED FOUR GAMES WITH THE WORST O LINE IN THE NFL....its that simple.

Lets get behind this guy,he wants to be here!!! there's no doubt he wants to wear that dolphin helmet,,,i LOVED his attitude last year,,he set a great example whether you know that or not,he showed he would do anything for this team,i know it, the players know it,,if he gets out there a stinks up the joint than i'll get on his @@@ as much as anybody.

I to like Stanton, but not like Quinn...How can you not like a guy who has been this highly rated for a couple of years, and dont like him as our QB, but you like a guy who is rated lower and hasnt proven nearly as much as Quinn?

What proof do you have that Quinn is going to be a bust, support some sort of evidence or argument or whatever when you make as bold a statement as this one!!!:shakeno:

I want Daunte to get another shot to be the starter next year, but I would also love to have Brady Quinn on this team. I personally don't think that Culpepper will be able to resurrect his career, but I'm hoping he does.

People criticized the Chargers for drafting Phillip Rivers when they already had Drew Brees. At the time Brees wasn't playing very well, much like Culpepper is now. They drafted Rivers, Brees became a pro-bowler and carried them to some success. When his salary became too high, they let him go and now have another Pro-Bowl quarterback. I'd say that worked out pretty well for them.

My point is, don't pass on Quinn simply because we have Culpepper.

Cpep will still be around no matter who we draft. But you can't count on one guy too much. We need some potential youth either way. And whenever you can snag a top talent at QB you have to take a chance on it.

I would much rather be in a situation like the chargers of a few years ago having too good QB's than our situation last year where we didn't even have one.

I agree if brees didn't get hurt they could have also had another 1st round pick for him.

I'm not sold on Quinn. At all. If Quinn was the quarterback most finfans want him to be, ND would've already won, or made a serious run at a Championship. He can't hack it here in the big leagues. Let someone else make a mistake, and let's get someone who can really pull thier stuff together from the mid-rounds. That's where all the great QB's are found nowadays anyway.
