What about Fred Gibson as # 3 WR

I know what you guys are gonna say but i think given a chance he may dazzle you all. He always had good hands at UGA. He wasn't a fast Wr but he always made the tough catches. As it stands now we only have Welker at the 3 3 spot and im sure we will draft somebody but i just wanted to see what you think about the possiblity of Gibson being the 3 Wr on this team.
 
That's pretty much the opposite of what he is. He's quite fast, yet he drops plenty of easy ones and is afraid to go over the middle.
 
If Gibson can stay healthy i think its possible. He has a boat load of talent and should be able to contribute and make som big plays. Got to love his size/speed combo.
 
the way i remember it was that reggie Brown his wr mate at uga was quicker. I have a friend who likes the steelers and he told me Cowher was upset they had to cut him cause they had so many veteran wr at the time he wanted to keep him but management said no...i think he be great for it...but time wil ltlel
 
Being a UGA fan, I can honestly say Fred dropped alot of balls. He has so much potential though. I hope he makes the team because he can really stretch the defense and he can be a good goal line option because of his jumping ability.
 
No thanks. Gibson isn't mentally in the game and he makes some key mistakes. He might be a decent 4th guy, but I would like to see him be our 5th guy and see if Baggett can teach him a thing or two.
 
ill tell you the truth i know we have bigger things to attend to as per CB but i would love to see us pick up a strong and good 3rd receiever i think it could make a big difference.
 
Fred got cut from the Steelers because he couldn't catch the ball and he just couldn't learn the assignments.

He literally needs to worry about learning the danged playbook above all else. Then, he can worry about keeping his concentration level high enough to make the catches and display his talents for the Dolphins next year.
 
Na, Gibson won't be the #3. Right now the #3 will be between Campbell and Welker. I would like to see us draft a QB in like round 3.

It's nice to see a fellow dawg on the site. I think Fred would give us a good deep ball threat. His hands aren't consistent, but I do think he could be effective if his skll set is utilized correctly.
