Everyone keeps talking about Hilliard as the 2nd back but what about Sheets... Sheets seems to be the perfect change-of-pace back. He runs a 4.45 and seems to be the most agile, shifty running back we have on our roster. I'd like to put him in motion on WC plays instead of bulky, slower Lex Hilliard. It might be more exciting to put Sheets in the backfield more than Hilliard as he has shown to be a huge play maker in college (tied for 5th all time in TDs scored in Big ten history; that without starting until his senior year and playing for a pass-happy offense- Purdue). 49er fans were pissed when we signed this guy off their PS. Hilliard seems to be a short-yardage guy but truth is we already have Polite and Hilliard has shown in limited preseason games to fumble a little too much.

Boy has got some serious speed and moves.

Sparano wants "chunk" yardage ?

Wow.. I felt like I was watching a Reggie Bush that actually runs north and south

Hilliard is going to get #2 because he's been with the team longer. I expect Sheets to beat him out before the end of the season, and Hilliard to eventually be cut.

With the way this regime likes to run the ball, you'll see 3 backs. Like Bell, Pierre Thomas and Bush in NO.. LIke the Giants last year with Ward, Jacobs and Bradshaw.

Miami had Brown, Williams and Cobbs for awhile.

Expect that to continue with different people when they're ready to step up to the plate.

I expect us to carry 4 next year. I don't think we will give up Sheets, cause I think that kid has some major potential.

Yeah. I think every team needs that fast, shifty back. Some can say that Cobbs is that, but I don't think he is. I believe he is more of a Pierre Thomas mold. Small, but runs like he's 225-230.

I think Cobbs is just a hell of a player. He's one of those guys that it's hard not to like, I can't wait to have him back. I think he deserves a lot more credit than he gets.

I remember watching a Ted Ginn video like this when we drafted him. Unfortunately too many players can't make the transition.

Pretty surprising Sheets didn't get drafted though. He had some solid stats.
