what about our D ???

Yeah! like the Ricky Williams 1800 yard season! How in the hell that team imploded like that????

The Dolphins defense has seemingly choked every year from 2002 to now, with the exception of 2008. It is almost in their DNA to "get tight" when the game is on the line. That is one thing I'll give Joey Porter and that 2008 season (ironically it is the only season we made the playoffs during that span). He had alot of sacks that year, but the great thing about those sacks were that many of them came at critical times and they helped the Fins win games (Buffalo, Oakland and San Fran come to mind instantly from that season).

We need another pass rusher and we need a nickel CB who can contain that slot WR . . . because the slot WR, 3rd down back and TE have been the achilles heel of this defense for much too long.
No doubt. It's been unbelievably frustrating.

I say the number need should be db's, its endless how many picks we dropped last year. Forget about hitters in the secondary, since the league is so protective of players, we needs hands. Guys that can pick 6 it and make Qb's think twice.

2nd we need Lb's that can cover both run and pass. As teams set us up last year over and over. We always kept a solid D, so these to areas will help.

Pass rush is the biggest need on defense, and luckily BPA at 8 will likely be pass rush (just don't see Blackmon falling that far). I think the rest of the draft will be offense. Now if we can somehow trade back...
Trade down and still get that pass rusher would be ideal. If we can sign Jake Scott draft playmakers for the offense. Double up on recievers. add a pass catching TE. grab a QB somewhere in there and that's a solid draft to me. DB's and LB's in later rounds.

I think the D has been great against the Run. No so great against the pass but terrible stoping opposing athletic TEs. That kind of means we need more pass rush and upgrade at Safety.

This has been true for a while now.

The D has consistently been poor at the end of games; they always seem to give up a winning score in the last few minutes. I'm not sure if this is on the playcalling or players, but a change is definitely needed! Tebow was shut down for 55 minutes, yet we allow him to get 2 TDs at the end to win? What changed in those final 5 minutes... defensive strategy? Pats were shut out in the first half. NE made half-time adjustments on offense, and our defense failed to counter them, so we lost. IMO, in-game adjustments (or lack of) and playcalling have been the bane of this team for years, and that has to do with the coaches. I hope that the new coaching regime will do better.
