I just read a post from Canadia-Phin and it got me thinking. I comletely forgot about him being back next year, hopefully being fully recovered from his injury this year. Before that injury I was hearing alot of good things about him. Does anyone know more about him and what he could possibly bring to the table with him and will poole also coming back. With bell, t tillman, daniels also back next year, that is a young secondary on the rise. how big of an impact will mitchell make? does anyone know more about him and the impact he could possibly make on our secondary.

he will be good I think poole and daniels will start and shirdonya will take toast howard's spot

I'll tell you he has blazing speed and could be a contributer in the future. In what capacity, I don't know, but hes definatly an asset for the team.

He could possibly flourish on the outside and allow Daniels to play where he's more comfortable in the slot.

The great thing about Mitchell is that he got a year to fully recover from his injury and learn the system. Also, NS is a great CB coach so hopefully Mitchell took advantage and will begin next season ahead of the game.

I'm excited to see him returning kicks and punts.

i know he was brought in as a return man...If he can contribute more than that then its all a bonus...

I wonder how his speed will be after the injury... I know that he has the right coach to bring out his skill set.

I hope he can take some time away from Welker on special teams...

I really like Welker as a WR... I think he got worn down this year..

I think a lot of it was the fact that teams started to pay more attention to him.

here's an article I don't remember seeing on him...
Shirdonya Mitchell believes that everything happens for a reason.

To Mitchell’s upbeat way of thinking, even blown knees have a purpose.

The former Missouri football player has kept that positive outlook despite tearing the anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his right knee during what had been an impressive workout in front of NFL scouts March 3 inside MU’s Devine Pavilion.

The career-threatening injury left Mitchell on crutches for almost two months and dashed any hope the speedy cornerback had of getting drafted by an NFL team.

And just what exactly was the reason for all this pain and agony?
Mitchell, Dolphins a good fit

Good article.

I would imagine he will be healed well enough to participate in offseason stuff and full contact training camp. He should start getting playing time next season as a nickel back and develop. By the following season he could earn a starting spot.

He and Poole might give our secondary some nice depth next year.

I believe he also returns kicks, which makes sense given his speed (hope he still has it). If healthy, I see him competing for the kick return job, with Welker returning punts.

This is his college profile.

He seems like he would be a project, but in reading about him. He only played two seasons as a corner so he can grow lots, he has all the physical tools to do it. Saban is a CB coach, he maybe able to create a solid pro out of him. One of the sites says he ran a 4.28. That is ridiculous.

If that is true, and he turns out to be damn good, we're going to give QB's some major headaches.
