I am not sure if he will be there but I was thinking if Matthews and Crushing are off the board what about Clint Sintim from Virginia? I know the Dolphins desperately need a corner but I was thinking wouldn't it be hard to pass on Sintim at 25 if he was there ?

Sintim is darned good, but not enough of an impact type of player. For better or worse I'd go with the Roth/Anderson hybrid and plug a true need at WR or CB. I'm still intrigued by the notion of drafting Eben Britton and moving Carey to Guard, but that's another story. Sintim is 2nd rd value, but 1st rd, not so sure. Too many needs to force a pick, either the right dude will be there or we'll maybe have a chance to slide down and get another premium pick. An extra 3rd could end up being a Kevin Barnes or Antoinne Caldwell, which would be great in my book.

Most people would tell you that I'm probably the biggest Clint Sintim homer on FinHeaven. That being said, I think Sintim can be had at #44.

Ok then, I am asking you. You play Tuna and Jeff Ireland. You take either Butler or Smithy at 25 and now it's your turn to pick at 44 and Sintim is there. What do you do. Are you taking him or not ?

I would. I think people are making too much out of the Senior Bowl performance. Yes he did not play well in pass coverage, but the guy is an unbelieveable athlete and can be coached up. He is a monster pass rusher. But with that being said, if Barwin was there I would take him. I think Barwin is much more fluid and his measureables are even more impressive than Sintim. You have to love Barwin's versatility. But if he is not there at #44 and Sintim is, I would be thrilled to get him. IMHO, that would be a value pick.

You see I want nothing to do with Barwin. I just get seem to understand why people like him. I know he hustles and plays hard but I have to be honest, I would hate to see him in a Dolphin uniform come '09.

In my last mock draft, I took Sean Smith at #25, and I followed it up by taking Sintim at #44. I would ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY take Sintim at #44.

I'd be happy with him at #44, but if a Paul Kruger is there that will give the FO something think about, along with any sliding WR's or CB's.

Not at all. He can be had in the 2nd round. I would take DT Ron Brace. This draft has very good OLB and WR classes, and a pretty good CB class. So I'd have to go with Ron Brace in the 1st. An OLB and CB in the 2nd. And WR in the 3rd.

Brace is far to limited and not nearly disruptive enough to be worth a first rounder IMO, hell i wouldn't consider him before 2b

Sintim looks to have the versatility, production, and size this regime loves. In other words he has the "make-up." At #44 in agreement with the rest, he would be a fantastic pick - especially if he can play ILB.

the guy played the OLB for al groh... what more can you ask coming out of college if you want to play OLB in our scheme? that's the point on sintim, and i've never been really keen on him, even when his name first poped up because of CK. Clint seems to me like he's reached his potential and offers nothing special to nfl teams. He'll be a reliable player and might end up being good but he doesn't have the "elite potential" that a guy like michael johnson has for example. I hope he's not our pick at 25...

IMO, what we're looking at at 25 is michael johnson, sean smith, kenny britt or hakeem nicks (you might make the case of darius butler also, but i moreso see him as a 2nd round option)

It depends who is on the board, someone always slips that they never thought would be there. I want them to take Smith @ #25. I had them taking him in my last mock and I think it makes the most sense. Sintim seems to be slipping, so he should or at least could be there at #44, but who else is going to be there. No one thought Merling would make it through round #1, so it is too hard to predict. Maybe one of the WR's slips that they thought about @ #25. Maybe another CB is there who they had as a first round grade is there, you never know. Sintim may be there @ #56.

I dunno, I've always been a UVa fan, and Sintim definitley has talent, but I wouldn't take him in the first. At the end of the day he just didn't seem like an NFL impact guy. Maybe I was spoiled watching guys like Darryl Blackstock at LB, Chris Canty at DT and Chris Long at DE, but I've never really thought Sintim was as good as Blackstock was either physically or functionally.

I'm kinda hoping we don't draft him on the first day at all. He was always listed at 6'4 255, but is closer to 6'2 240, he isn't really a blazer, and while he's a solid player, he's neither complete nor does he show a dominant burst.

Maybe at 44 if Barwin and Michael Johnson are gone.

Also realize that a lot of people see Sintim as an inside LB and that would be early for the Dolphins to draft an ILB.
