I know alot of you didnt like Rob Konrad too much But i enjoyed his ability to run and catch the ball and the one handed catch that he slid on his belly in the endzone. I would like to ask if Polite could run with the ball on goal line situations or could he be use in a package with two tightends and 2 wr sets with a te and wrs as decoys ?

I am just asking and would like to see polite try new things just to see what he could possibly do .

I'm all for it. And it doesnt have to be short yardage situations. I think we will see him get a few carries in our base offense.

According to the stats Polite had a 12 yard carry against Tampa. I'd be curious to see a clip of it if one existed. If not, could anyone that saw it describe the play?

My take is that you can always find another blocking back, maybe not at a Lorenzo Neal type level, or right away (see 2008-2009 Fins), but you can find them. But bulldozing ball carriers are special. Doesn't matter if he's a FB or HB or H-back. Look what Brandon Jacobs can do for the Giants. You know Parcells would give half his sack for runner like that.

Polite is a 2 yards and a cloud of dust type back. He is not fast and seems stagnant trying to get out of the backfield to catch the ball. He does not move well laterally at all. He can't make people miss. He has no real shiftiness ability . He's stiff.

We need home-run hitters to get the ball more, not these 2-yards and a cloud of dust types.. I would like to see Sheets in there running the motion in the wildcat, and/or being more involved.. He's very shifty and can make people miss.

He has hands and can catch out of the backfield, and he has the speed you need to get those chunk yardage plays. Game breakers is what we need more of, we already have plenty of those short yardage gain type people on offense.

On 3rd or 4th and 1, sure you can use Polite for those situations, he's very good in that spot.. But using him as a staple in your offense is a mistake when you have the receiving corps and TE's we have. We need those chunk yardage types who can break some plays considering who we already have on offense.

I expect we are going to see some additional wrinkles with our veteran players as well as some new faces on the field. Henning likes to do this in regards wether there are injuries or not.

This. More chunk.
