Am I the only one who wouldn't be upset if we leave Matt moore as the starter for next year and stack the team around him. Sign Players like Mario Williams, Reggie Nelson, draft offensively, and would still probably have a little left over money for another decent sign.

I'm jus saying its not the worst thing in the world. If we sign a player like Flynn n he doesn't work out, it would really set us back.

I really feel 9-7 is our ceiling with Matt Moore. Incredibly average quarterback. He should be the solid backup to the QB we sign in FA or the draft.

we need to upgrade, but if we cant i will be ok with him

I'd be much more comfortable with Moore+a prospect than Manning or Flynn. We need a QB in this draft whether it be top first round prospect or a later round to develop.

My personal view is that there isn't enough attention being given to the opportunity cost, and risk, that signing Matt Flyyn represents. Is he actually better than Matt Moore- we know that from one game? And that one meaningless end of the season game is worth tens of millions of dollars that could pehaps be better spent signing top talent at other positions- OLB, WR, OL, etc.?

I think that there's merit to the notion that Philbin will know best on this one and act accordingly. But there were reasons why Flynn lasted until the 7th round- Matt Cassell is a decent QB and former 7th rd pick as well, but I wouldn't want to trade a 2nd rd pick and pay him tens of millions of dollars as KC did for the QB that he is now- in Flynns case specifically, I wouldn't want to pay the money for such a questionable commodiity, money that could imo be better spent elsewhere.

As things stand now I'd rather have Matt Moore and the money than Matt Flynn- and more importantly to me, I want Brandon Weeden. I'd take Moore, Weeden and the money saved on not signing Flynn over signing Flynn- in a heartbeat.

1. David DeCastro
2. Brandon Weeden
3. Joe Adams

I agree with jim1, we have an opportunity to land Flynn, a QB that has familiarity with our staff.
Matt Moore played really well last year IMHO, some of those losses were not all his fault. Dropped balls, collapsed defense, poor coaching, etc contributed. I would say that him and Marshall were a bright spot. We connected on a lot of big plays.
I would like to see how Moore plays under Sherman, he may actually be better in his offense.
Having 2 good/great QB's for a couple of seasons is a good thing. It will eventually sort itself out.
I think that the starters job should be wide open and Moore and Flynn(if signed) should compete for the job.
If we start the season with Moore, I think we will be fine.

I will say this gladly Matt Moore is better that Mark Sanchez Joe Flacco and Alex Smith

Weeden will likely be selected in the first round IMHO. Flynn is ready to start now, having spent years with Philbin, and knowing the system. The question is, Philbin also knows Flynn. Will he settle for him out of loyalty or does he truly see him as an upgrade over Moore? That is my concern.
If we do not sign Flynn for whatever reason, then Weeden should be on our radar. He played great and got a lot of positive press after the North/South game. I think his stock is pretty high. He could get drafted early in the first round, who really knows. Shanahan might have his good eye on him.
I love the possibilities. A new staff, solid team, and some good players coming out in the draft. It will be fun to watch it unfold.
