Here is some of what Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Monday from a beautiful resort in the San Diego area:
• Earl Mitchell surprised Miami with really, really good conditioning. Great energy level.
• Miami is ignoring any success and resetting on Wednesdays.
• Dolphins have off tomorrow. Players need to make good decisions tonight.
• The players are hanging out with each other more than usual at the resort.
• Ryan Tannehill is doing a good job with decision making.
• DeVante Parker’s peformance was something Miami needed “bad.”
• Still going through a medical process on Branden Albert. Not sure if he can play this week or the next week. The Dolphins don’t want to negatively impact his career.
• Defensive backs need to do a better job in coverage to not be as “handsy as what we’ve been.”
• If you talk about playoffs that’s when it doesn’t happen. The best path is to not talk about it but just focus on the things that you need to do to get there.
• Cam Wake is full go for sure now. He has really made it tough on every tackle he’s gone against. Great energy. You can see the passion he has for the game and his team. He is closer to 100 percent.
• The team is pretty close to knowing each other as well as it can be. Front office. Whole building. Who is craziest, etc. You know what to expect.
• It will be hard for Gase to ever, ever give up playcalling.
• What Tannehill does is rare with some of the shots he takes and bounces back up. To be able to regroup is amazing. No idea how he saw Kenny Stills and he never even saw DeVante Parker.
• Mario Williams is day-to-day for the week.
• Miami’s defense had really good run fits and were swarming Melvin Gordon.
