I think it's safe to say, based on the Fins first two showings, that it would be next to impossible for Miami to end up with the #1 pick in the draft next year. At the same time, it's not at all likely that Ferrotte(sp?) is going to get you back to the playoffs even if Ricky and Ronnie do start to produce better team rushing numbers. With the talent that this team has at WR and TE what this team needs to get to the next level is a QB with a strong arm that can make quick reads. Such a QB, i.e. Matt Lienart(again, sp?) will, with out question, go #1. So what, as Dolphin fans, are you willing to trade to San Fran or the Brownies for the #1 overall pick? Or do you think there is another franchise QB that can be had at #9-#16 which is where I think the Fins will end up.

*edit-I just closed the window and then logged back on. The font looks bigger on my screen now. Is it better for you?*

Seriously dude, can you fix your font??? I'm not trying to pick on you, but it's killing my eyes.

Fun to think about, but impossible to say until the year is over and we see what we have. Without thinking to hard, I would like to see us go get a QB even if it takes some (reasonable) giving up. I really think that Oline is more important, because it affects everything big time. that is why some prefer the servicable QB style.

Are you suggesting that San Fran would take another QB with their #1 if they get the first pick?

they won't, which is why theoretically the dolphins would trade with them to get leinart

I wonder, though, if the line is really as bad as you all think. Maybe the problem is timid play on the part of the QB and RBs. You know, holding the ball to long for fear of thowing a pick rather than letting it fly so Cambers, McMichaels and co. can go up and GET the ball. Why would Miami hold on to these big, phisical guys if they're afraid to let them go out and put that size to work for the team?

I'm telling you, put Chris Cambers and Randy McMichael on the field with Daunte Culpepper as his QB and everyone would forget Moss was ever a Viking.

I think Moss is great. He was open all day last week and the Raiders failed to use him. However, yes, try a QB that does not underthrow 1/2 the time. Agreed.

Say the niners get the 1st overall again I think they'd keep it and pick one of the beast LTs or Reggie Bush possibly, unless they are overwhelmed by a HUGE deal.

well you do pose an interesting question, but I say nothing. We will simply evaluate our talent pool and salary cap. Their will be several good Qb's next draft. I still like our chances of getting Breeze. (sp)?

any QB we draft will probably not come in, start and be the answer for our team. I think we will stay with frerotte through the end of next season adn draft someone to mold for 1 year, or trade for a big name then. We don't need a superstar @ QB just a smart guy with a decent arm.

Good question. There are so many holes that I don't think Leinart would come in and light it up right away, especially considering it would likely take a number of picks to get him. I'd love to have him, but I think it would make more sense to build the offensive line (LT is a huge weakness) and look at a second tier, steady-type quarterback in the 2nd or third round.

Ah! Interesting point about Brees. But he's only throwing around 50% this year and the bolts are 0-2. Is he really the best option?

I think the line is the biggest problem. If you look at the design of Miami's offense, most pass plays have been quick drops. Otherwise the qb is getting hit a lot. Certainly, a better quarterback would make a difference but the guy has to have a fighting chance.

I don't know. Taking O-Linemen in the first round is a waste IMO.
