Chris Chambers showed that he could be a legimate threat before Mike Mularkey stared running the offense. My question is does anyone think he can be a legimate threat to defenses this year?

After 6 years in the league if he's still trying to figure out his potential, then he'll never figure it out.

Good point. I would have argue that all of his head coaches have been conservative/defensive minded coaches. As soon as he had a coach that knew how to use him(Scott Linehan) he started to make strides. He's got talent there's no doubt about that but in the NFL everybody has talent. The differences between good and great players are the small things such as concentration and making a play when the opportunity presents itself. They didn't cut Chris Chambers for a reason.

hes always had the oportunities..... its just he doesnt always seem to take them. hopefully, hell get some better glue for his gloves this year lol.

It seemed to fall apart when Linehan left. Before he did, our offense was beginning to click. Damn Rams!

With Ted Ginn Jr. on the field, EVERYONE becomes more dangerous!
this is why we got him

And you cant blame chambers for bad stats he has never had a great QB
Look at randy moss he was the most dominating WR but when he went to the raiders with no QB he did not do any thing

Im sure he already realizes his potential. Its hard to be a good player at any position when your QB and offenses are changing every year. This is why Chambers has never been able to be consistent

Thats opening up a whole new can of worms. Careful what you say around here.

Im thinking that Cameron will find ways to get him the ball, something that Mularkey didnt seem to do. Coaches know that the ball has to be in the hands of their play makers as much as possible, and Chambers IS a play maker. If anything, he helped Booker and Welker have a good season by demanding double coverage. That cant be done anymore with Ginn on the field, especially when he's streaking up the fieldd.

Basically, Im banking on the fact that we have a competent offensive play caller that will utilize ALL of our players to their potential. It is simply up to the players to respond, something Chambers has been criticized for in the past.

How long are we allowed to speculate on Chambers potential? If he is still here when he is 35, will we still ask the same question?

Trust me...Ive been in that argument before plenty of times before. Some people are blinded by some things and for some reason do not think that a consistent QB has anything to with a consistent WR. I think Cam will know how to use him and he will get back to his 2005 season, having Ginn (If he plays) stretch D's will help Chambers even more

Agreed, but I do see a restructuring taking place next off season, unless he gets 11+ TDs and 1300+ yrds. Personally, for Chambers I don't see that as a stretch of the imagination either.

I remember watching the DET game again like a week ago, and the announcer said "Harrington had Chambers deep for an easy score if he got it to him." You know how many times that happened last year. It seemend Harrington had great timing with Booker, and it seemed as if Chambers was always his third read! AND!, if Harrington hit Chambers whenever he was open instead of over/under throwing him, he would've got 1000+ yards, and his drops wouldn't be an issue.

on behalf of all the sincere dolphin fans i must profess that chambers could be a very good receiver but we need a good o.c and a good qb yet since we have cam calling shots you can sratch the first thought. i think dolphin fans have been way too hard on chambers and mcmichael . david martin may be ok but some packer fans have said he wasnt a help to farve so that means our te may not be a big factor this next season. anyway i wish people would lay off of chambers he just had a bad year.:tantrum:

I would love to see Chambers reach and maintain a high level of play, but I think we've seen the best he has. I just don't see the system or QB making him catch the ball better or run better routes. In other words, becoming a legit #1 that I thought he would be. I think Chris as a 700 to 800 yard a season WR, nothing more.
