Lets say we don't get Brees, and we have to cut Ferrotte and he signs elsewhere. Do you think Saban will start a rookie QB(Cutler, Croyle, or Jacobs) next year? I don't think Ramsey is a starting NFL qb.

If by any chance Cutler slip to us, he might have a chance, but I think Lemon as better chance to start than the last 2.

That said, we gotta get Brees. Brees please.

Cutler probably wont make it out of the top 5, the Jets are reportedly enamoured with him. I really dont know why everyone is so down on Ramsey, he has a lot of talent who has played under.....LOL Steve Spurrier(what a joke this guy was) and then Joe Gibbs. The only issues I have with Gibbs is he is more inclined to go with a vet as opposed to taking his lumps with a young QB. I think Ramsey under Spurrier just got the "I've gotten the crap knocked out of me one to many times" syndrome. Hes now been able to sit and learn under a good QB in Brunnell and a good coach in Gibbs. I really think if any QB will thrive with a change of scenery its Ramsey.

AGREED

Lemon & Ramsey. Maybe to clean the clubhouse. But how these are considered viable options, or upgrades to Gus, is beyond me.

Chances are equally remote Nick will start a rookie. We have a good shot at the playoffs & outside shot at the superbowl. We have a stout defense & a stud running back. Nick will want a vet to manage the games...

im not sold on ramsey ill give u the spurrier thing he took a beating but think about it if he a starting caliber qb why cant he beat out brunnell for the job. and if hes starting caliber qb why did they trade in to the first round to grab jason campbell

I dont think Gibbs believes he can recover from what Spurrier did to him, I was never happy with spending a pick on him but if he is cut I think our allstar coaching staff could very well instill the confidence in him that he once had.

I have to be honest, at first I really didn't like the idea of Ramsey coming here. But after thinking about it, might not be a bad idea. Sure Brees would be nice, but he has health issues. Ramsey doesn't have health issues, he has confidence issues. A little success and the confidence comes back. Another surgery or two and "maybe" the health comes back. I'd take the lack of confidence over the lack of health any day.

Now with Ramsey, he's young, has a good/great arm strength, is more accurate than Frerotte and can be a really good QB with the right supporting cast which we do have. So, I'm starting to like the idea of Ramsey coming here. I guess we'll have to see how things play out.

If no Brees I want McCown.

If we can't get Brees, than I'd like to see 4 young Qb's into training camp: McCown, Ramsey, Lemon, and a mid-late round QB. One out of these should be cut lately, leaving the job for grabs between the remaining 3.

why does any1 think Lemon can be a starter over any1... the guy was a NFL Euro reject and has been tossed around as a 3rd stringer as well... he is no starter no matter how good he looked in pre season against 3rd string players. he is a good 3rd string guy to have or maybe 2nd string but no starter IMO. Id much rather see Sage, Ramsey(who would likely be a franchise guy if he would leave Redskins IMO), or sum1 else we would trade for. I also hope to god we dont get into such trouble that we would have to start sum1 like croyle, casue that will be one mess of a year. the only qb in the draft who could start immediatly is Lienart and thats all. the rest of these guys are hyped just like alex smith.

The "team" play has a lot to do with the QB position. If we have a solid ground game and play good D then we could start just about anyone. Lemon or Croyle included. Just look at Chicago if Orton can win anyone can win with a good supporting cast. I really like the idea of Brees but I think whoever saban picks to start will be fully capable to get the job done. Saban has shown that he is committed to getting better at the QB position which is something i haven't seen in Miami in a while, and that's good enough for me.

pretty good chances if we get rid of Frerotte and don't get Brees than the rookie, Ramsey or Lemon is going to start. Ramsey has to learn the system the same as the rookie does and Ramsey needs work on his mechanics so a rookie will be starting if we don't get Brees and dump Frerotte
