What are the thoughts on Brandon Pili.

Hard for me to evaluate him. He is better. But in games he has been going against backups. And In practice he is going against our interior oline Over the years I got excited about certain guys in preseason and then when they went against high quality players they didn’t produce.

That’s why I haven’t got excited about the edge rusher bell. He hasn’t made a play in joint practices and nothing in Preseason
Remember the pre season game when Sam Euguaven had 5 or 6 sacks? It made sense against guys not going to make an NFL roster. And that’s how you knew Sam was going to make a roster - he dominated these guys. And then think about it - Sam barely made the cut year after year. Point is, a solid or average or even below average player can show as a game wrecker in preseason depending upon who they are matched up against. I can’t tell if Pili is going to be any good or not. I don’t think any of us can until he sees snaps against starters.

Exactly. I would love to see him turn into a decent rotational piece, but who knows.

Hes looked pretty damn good in preseason.
That and $5 will get you a slice of cheese on your burger. ;)

If the coaches keep him around, that tells me they believe in his talent as a fill-in, possibly rotational guy. Really hope as many guys as possible can fill that role w/o having to bring more in...its a good sign.

He is really coming on. Team needs young inexpensive players badly. For those 3 reasons I have him on the cusp of making it. Lots of talent on a crowded roster everywhere except perhaps OL and QB. Lots of banged up injury prone talentted veterans and draft picks working against him though. If Benito Jones is questionable with injury then that works in his favor. Imo

I think Pili has matured as a player and a person. He's got more size, which is something the others don't have. He's more stout against the run and think that'll be his calling card in making the team.
Benito Jones has at least 15 lbs on Pili. 6'1, 335, compared to 6'3, 319.

I don't know how Pili will do this season but I feel strongly that 2025 draft will include IDL and IOL, not necessarily day 1 or even 2 but there will be investment in trench depth after so many years of mostly skill player drafting. Even if it means trading down to add more lottery tickets.
