what are we gonna do about our secondary?

Good question....... I think everyone is hoping that Jason Allen excels as a CB this year and that Yerimiah Bell does even better than last year with more experience under his belt. Now even both of those come true though....... I still think we need help in the secondary.

I'm hoping we get Mccauley out of Fresno State, he may fall to us in the second round if they are looking at CB with one of the 2 second round picks

Yeah i think we need to draft a FS since J. Allen is moving to cb. I really hope Brandon Meriweather falls to #40

i keep seeing every post but this one.
who do you see us taking as far as a db?

No one. We already picked our DB last year: Jason Allen.

We are actually deep enough there. At CB we have Jason and Will Allen starting. Then behind them are Andre Goodman and Travis Daniels battling it out for NB and DB. Then Shirdonyell Mitchell, who has been tearing up NFL Europe so far as the 5th CB.

At S we have returning starters Renaldo Hill and Yeremiah Bell. Then behind them are C. Worrell and Traveris Tillman.

So if MIA adds anymore for training camp's sake...it won't be until at least RD 4.

C'mon man...are you the only Dolfan who doesn't know that MIA will only be looking at OL, QB, and WR in the first two rounds? My goodness. Where have you been?

Reports after reports should give you enough information to see that the only spots that MIA left for the draft was Offense. Especially OL.

Reports after reports show that MIA is targeting QB, OL, and WR. After that...BPA's. Oh, and a Punter.

no offense but i disagree with you... although we will love to have the best player available at the time we pick be OL QB & WR we would not ONLY be looking at those positions ... if we can get better value at other positions i think we will do that instead.

Mitchell who? It's a reason he's in NFL Europe

I thought we resigned Lehan. He stinks. Goodman stinks. Who knows whats up with Jason Allen right now. All of our safeties stink. Daniels is overrated. Ok 3rd or 4th guy at best. I dont know but I think we need serious help in the secondary. I see it and OL as our only weaknesses after we get Green. Yes our front 7 will dominate. The pass rush will aide the secondary. Really it will mask it.

But what happens if in a particular game we cant stop the run? Or what if Traylor goes down? I tell you what happens. The pass rush will be slowed down by the running game and our secondary will be exposed. We are capable of shutting people out and at the same time capable of giving up alot of big scores. We must stay healthy in the middle. We must stop the run. If we do that the pass rush will smother people. We have to fix the secondary to solidify the D.

I always wanted to trade down a few spots and get Revis. He can start right away, shut people down, and return kicks. I think he is the 2nd best defensive player in the draft behind Landry. If peterson falls to nine maybe we can slide down to buffalo or GB.

Yes we need offense . . . but we also need overall talent on this team. If there is a defensive guy the team really likes on the board . . . a guy rated higher than any offensive guy they have up . . . I mean u gotta take the defensive guy. The main problem w/ this team has been the lack of first day picks . . . on both sides of the ball . . . which is why it wouldn't shock me if Miami went defense in the first round . . . and possibly twice on the first day. The team needs OL, this regime can build a line later in the draft . . . they have done it before . . . we need talented guys.

IMO, with the picks we have . . . first day will include

QB, OL, WR and a defensive player (BPA).

Well, if we can't draft Brandon Meriweather, then how about Safety Josh Gattis in the 3rd round????

Josh Gattis-Wake Forest 6-1 206 ran a 4.52

I know you can base too much on scouting reports, especially since there are many different perspectives. But since I think Miami will target a qb, WR and Ol with their first couple of picks. I'm not sure they will be in place to get Griffin, Nelson or Merrieather. But, for the third round, which he could still be there that I don't think would be too bad, especially for a third round pick is John Wendling. This guys might be a steal in the making. He has too polish up somethings, and they stated a little something about a workout warrior, but one of his positives was his speed for his frame in the games. They say he is a playmaker, has great intangibles, hard worker, and does a great job against the run and is a solid tackler, which I'm sure he is with his size. Along with a good amount of upside. And the big thing I noticed for his negatives was how at the final part, it says that many of his are correctable meaning many of his problems are from not being completely experienced with the position, but has the tools, and intangibles; therefore, he could be a pretty good steal. I don't know but if he is still around when Miami is looking for a player for it's third round pick, I wouldn't mind them getting him.

Josh Gattis doesn't sound too bad either, so I wouldn't mind either guy.

I think they really want to worry about the offense first, unless the perfect player falls into their laps. We'll probably pick up someone like Kenny Scott in the 4th.

yea dont forget Travis Daniels is a very solid CB, who is young. He was just hurt last season.

It will be nice to see him in his second full healthy season.
