6-10? 8-8? 10-6? 12-4? its going to be harder this year so im going for 10-6. dont no if thats good enough to win afc/east. but with a good draft/f.a we will give it a good try. what would you be happy with.

More then anything else I just want to see us continue to add good young talent. It's too early to really put a number on a record. Our schedule is supposed to be more difficult next season but in the NFL, things change every year. Teams that are supposed to be good next year may not be and teams that we think will be a cake walk might be Super Bowl contenders.

If the Dolphins took a step back record wise but added a bunch of good young players who will get us closer to contention in the near future then I would be happy. I don't think there is any doubt that we have a good coach in place and I have no problem being patient and giving Sparano the benefit of the doubt if our record is not as good as it was this season, if it looks like we're building something really good.

For Ross to keeps his hands off and let Parcells, Ireland and Sparano continue rebuilding without interference.

If we can have a winning record with the schedule we have, I will be happy. I would like to see us repeat as AFC East Champs, which will be tough, especially if Brady comes back healthy.

If we can finish at .500 or better and add some solid young players through the draft and free agency to be the core of this team for the future I will be happy.

second round in the playoffs, would love the super bowl though

I want to improve our record by another ten games. Short of that, I hope we are competing for the division in the last couple of weeks.

I agree. With a schedule that is way more difficult than this year's, I would be happy being in the running for the division championship.

I hope to keep my expectations fairly low due to the tougher schedule next year, but that might be difficult for me to do in reality.

It would be disappointing if we aren't competing for a playoff spot in December, but I certainly wouldn't flame the front office, or call Sparano a one-hit wonder, or scream for Pennington to be benched, etc etc.

Now, if we dont make the playoffs in 2010, then I'm sure I'll be pissed. But we're building a good foundation, and a tough team. Lets give this a little time.

Division title again would keep me happy and to advance further into the playoffs...how about a first round bye??

Winning the East again next year would be incredible. Yea we have a tuff schedule but so do New England, Jets and Bills. That's who we need to focus on.

More than anything . . . lets get better as a team and talent wise. I wont start expecting AFC championship game potential until 2010.

I'm hoping for at least 8-8 or 9-7. That's based on what we know today though. Like people said.....teams change every year. tough teams regress...crappy teams move up.

Who expected Atlanta to be 11-5 this year and considered a tough team? How about the Jags being crappy? or the Browns and Bengals to be so bad? Who expected SD to be 8-8? The Packers to be 6-10?

If somebody a year ago, we had to face the AFC North and NFC North, what would have thought? pretty tough looking schedule based on 07. Packers were 13-3, Vikings were early SB picks, before the season. Lions started 6-2 in 07, some people thought they had a shot at the division, lol. Bears can usually play tough with their defense. Steelers looked tough. Baltimore had injuries in 07 and tougher than their record showed...hell, they technically beat NE. Browns were 10-6 and going to be a goodteam this year. And the Bengals still had Palmer, Housh, and CJ. That's a tough schedule looking at 07.....not so much in 08.

I am happy that BP & Sons are thinking "pillars of strength" for the next 10 years...

I know that they have designs to be a dynasty and that's why they overlooked Ryan...

They are proabaly as shocked as anyone that we won the division quite prematurely on account of NE unfortunate loss of Brady I would think... but it won't effect the long term planning that we have many places to upgrade before we get cute with our draft...

Building from the inside out..., look for some behemoths to be drafted on the first day..., notably NT C and ILB or OLB

I'll be happy with 9-7. Honestly, we weren't nearly as good as our record in 2008, and we can't possibly duplicate that turnover margin next year. IMHO, our team was squarely around the 8-8 or possibly 7-9 mark, but luck broke our way. I'd see 9-7 as improvement, despite the record indicating otherwise.

I'm extremely pleased with Ireland. He brought us a platform upon which Sparano can build. Defense wins championships and it always begins in the trenches, so it makes sense to prioritize DL with Merling and Langford. Every new regime needs a QB, so it made sense to add Henne, and even more sense to grab Pennington when he became available. The cornerstone of a team built on defense has to be an offense that can grind out the clock, so the selection of Jake Long was logical. Giving a rookie Head Coach the best piece of clay with which to mold (Jake Long) was simply the right move. Long fits perfectly into the philosophy espoused by Sparano and Parcells, and IMHO time will prove that he was also the best player in the draft.

So, while I had specific quibbles with this draft, such as the lack of a CB anywhere, I am very pleased to have such a solid GM finally picking our draft talent. For 2009, I just hope he stays.
