The penalties we are incurring on offence, or the penalties we are incurring on defence??? I personally think that the penalties we are incurring on defence are hurting us more. On all three (might've been two, not 100% sure) of the Bills first half scoring drives, we had them stopped short of getting a TD on third down or stopped short of even being in field goal range on third down, only to let the drives continue by giving away a stupid holding penalty or an offsides. Add that to the fact that when we lowered our penalties in the second half we outscored them 14-3 (would've been 21-3 if brown didn't fumble) it's clear that this team has a lot more potential to be a great team than many people think. Thoughts?

I think we sort the penalties out short term on both sides of the ball. New system, new coach etc. What worries me is the secondary and the way they are playing. I dont want to blame any one player, because that wouldn't be right. Do you think it is the system or do you think it is the quality of the players, playing it that is the problem ?

I think the quality of the players is not there, not quite. I also think the unfamiliarity with the D is hurting us. Given time all will settle down and we will play a cleaner ball game.

It is hard to put a finger on just what exactly is the cause of all these frustrating penalties. Judging by the fact that our veteran players are committing as many penalties as our younger guys i would put it down to a combination of a large number of new starters playing on a new team, with a new system and a new coaching staff. Team chemistry is something that will take a while to build with this many FA pick ups and rookies on the defense. As for the offense i put that down to our young o-line either over-thinking or just zoning out. Whatever the cause, it is a very fixable problem. Still, the team has shown no signs of improving in the discipline area over each of the 4 games. In fact, we've been getting worse:cry: .
