Today has finally arrived and I'm excited as ever; however, my expectations for tonights game seem to waver between understanding this is just a glorified scrimmage with the focus on player evaluation to wanting total domination and a victory. I will probably switch back and forth over this all day because I hate to lose, but I do suspect we won't be as sharp as what I hope we will be. Mostly not because our guys aren't working hard or do not have the talent, but mostly because of our new systems being a work in progress. I hope not, but I suspect there will be a few broken plays with big play potential for the Bears. What are your expectations for tonight?

Steve

i expect a bit of rustiness and some errors because of the new system but i'm expecting high intensity football.

i don't predict, but as a hardcore fan i expect or would like to see:

*Feeley making his reads and delivering the ball to the open man- no more staring down the receiver.

*Carey and the gang to hold their own pass blocking and give our rb's at least a little room to run up the middle run blocking.

*Boston to show some signs that hes still got good ability

*The defense to hold their own in all regards (the bears O is crap).

*The rookies to make an impact when they face 2nd and 3rd stringers.

*No one to get injured!!!!!!;)

I'm looking forward to two things... the passing game (whether they take those shots downfield or not) and the RB's (Maybe Gordon even more so than Ricky).

A win never hurts, it only helps.

mikefan22 here!

First off I want everyone to stay healthy.2nd I just hope AJ looks good out there
and doesn't lock on to his WR. And last but not least I hope we finally win one preseason or not. :D

I got a feeling Feeley will do deep First play, Just feel like the fins will try and send a message. I really hope Feeley can have a good game and maybe pull away from Gus a little bit.

- I'm also very excited too see the new line, I'm expecting good things from them.

ricky 8 carries 263 yards 6 tds 1 fumble, 1 option pitch to a trailing rex hadnot
rex hadnot 1 carry 36 yards
feeley 1-9 80 yards 1 td 4 int (all returned for tds). 1 carry for 0 yards
mare 3-5 fgs (made everything 50+ yards, missed from 24 and 28)
defense 8 sacks 3 ff no points allowed and madison even had an int (first since 2003)

dolphins win 58-28

I am hoping to see an improvment in the o-line. I also think Rick will have a BIG game because he will probably be going against the #2 or 3 team D of the Bears. If Feeley is a Gamer........... this is the start of it. I want him starting on opening day, not Ferotte. I am expecting both sides of the ball to be a little mixed up since they are both new systems / scemes but the intensity to be very high. It shoud be fun .
FOOTBALL IS BACK

I expect two things:

One is horribly obvious, and that's to see most of our players play. Obviously, as someone said, this is kindof a glorified scrimmage.

The 2nd thing is that I expect us to win. I think it was JT that said at the HOF induction that allthough it doesn't count in the statistics, it's very important for a team that played badly last year to start out with a win. We don't want our players to doubt their improvement just because of a scrimmage. I 110% think that Saban wants this win.

i want to see SOMETHING out of either ricky or boston. I want to see a big play on offense from either gus or feeley, don't care which. I'd like to see one of our QB's look comfortable. And i want the Defense to look aggressive. very agressive.

No turnovers or injuries, with at least a little production whether it be 1st string or 4th string...

First of all, I pray that there will be no injuries. But, I think one of the things that I'm looking towards is how well we have minimized the "dumb" plays -- false starts, offsides, defensive holding, etc. We just had too many mental errors during the Wanny era. Saban seems like he is trying to get the players to focus and concentrate such that these are eliminated or minimized. So, I think it'll be interesting to see how they respond.
