What back up QB's could we trade for?

Trading for a backup QB, we would be able to save our 1st round pick #8. I think we should trade the #8 and move back to get an additional 1st or 2nd.

But who are possible QB's that we could target. Maybe the 3rd we got from the Marshall deal? (Which was a bad deal IMO)

Let's Start in the AFC East

Patriots - Ryan Mallett or Brian Hoyer. Hoyer is a RFA and they are high on him. I would like Mallett. Has a strong arm and is a pretty good passer. Also has ideal to above average height for a qb. I would give a 3rd for Mallett, that is what they drafted him for. Maybe a 3rd this year and a later pick or a pick next year. Conditional 5th that could be a 3rd next year?

Jets - Pass

Bills - Thigpen - Pass

AFC West

Broncos - Tebow - PASS ... PASS... PASS

Raiders - Terrell Pryor - Pass. Intriguing but pass.

Chargers - Billy Volek - Pass

Chiefs - Pass

AFC North

Steelers - Pass

Ravens - Pass

Bengals - Pass

Browns - Pass

AFC South

Texans - TJ Yates - Pass

Titans - Pass

Colts - Pass

Jaguars - Chad Henne - LOL Pass even though he looks better than what is left as FA's now.

NFC East

Giants - Pass

Redskins - Pass

Cowboys - Kyle Orton - Looks better than the remaining FA's but they just signed him

Eagles - Pass

NFC West

Cardinals - Pass

49ers - Kapernick - They won't trade him

Rams - Pass

Seahawks - Tavaris Jackson - Pass

NFC North

Vikings - Joe Webb - Pass

Packers - Graham Harrell - Intriguing guy. They kept him on Active Roster so nobody could poach him so they must see something.

Lions - Pass

Bears - Jason Campbell - Would have been better than whats left.

AFC South

Falcons - Pass

Saints - Pass

Bucs - Pass

Panthers - Jimmy Clausen - Pass

That leaves Ryan Mallet (my top choice) whom we should have drafted last year anyway and Graham Harrell. Probably neither happens but I had to think outloud.

Volek got cut.

Honestly, we have no options at QB... We are going to have another season of mediocre QB play.
 
All of those QB's are garbage. Alex Smith is not the ideal signing, but Ireland's has put us into this position.
Sign Smith, and fire Ireland. Let Charlie Casserly/Philbin run this years draft. They can't do any worse than the ass clown.

Not Casserly. The man belongs in a home for the mentally challenged. Maybe we could bring in Mayock and Lombardi, if we are going to steal people from NFL network.
 
If tebow goes to the Jags, I wouldnt be against giving Gabbert a look with a third round pick.
