What Broncos fans think of Mike McCoy

I looked for reasons to LIKE this move, but the dislike for McCoy on that board is overwhelming.

Living the Mtn time zone, I can safely state that bronco "fans" are not the shiniest pennies in the fountain.

Really, the only difference between a broncos & jest fan is that the former can use the altitude as a copout for their buffoonery.

Some of the posts there are dumb. They think that McCoy is the reason that team is a stone age run first offense? That team is a stone age run first offense because John Fox is the coach and that is Foxball. That is 100% on the head coach. McCoy has coached under different HCs and he was NOT running a stone age read option deal. He was running an offense for John Fox with Tim Tebow at QB. That's a huge factor in how he schemes and calls plays.

As I said in another thread, I watched almost a dozen Broncos games this season and what I saw was a team that got better in the second half after trying a lot of different stuff and then tried to exploit what the defense was giving them. He dialed up a lot of deep pass plays, Tebow just couldn't hit them. The pass attempts don't tell the whole story, either. They called a lot of pass plays where Tebow either held the ball too long and ate a sack, or decided to just take off with the ball.

Lets not forget that Fox is a friend of Tuna.

Who knows maybe McCoy comes to S Florida & Dan Henning comes out of retirement & goes to Denver?

Well since the talent level of the Dolphins is comparable to that of the Packers, I guess we have nothing to worry about.

You totally missed the analogy. Its not about the here & now.

Funny thing about the future no one knows what will happen! Even, Nostradamus was grasping at straws.

Looks like Zimmer had too much balls for the inept, gutless idiots running this team. I guess Mike McCoy is the yes man they were looking for. Here comes another decade of complete and total irrelevance.

So I just wasted 5 minutes reading analysis from fans who think Tebow is a great QB.

Some of the smarter fans realize that the current Broncos offense is more of a byproduct of John Fox's style. When McCoy ran the offense last year, it was completely different.

You know we are in trouble with the selection of McCoy when you read this:

Yes, because some poster who no one knows and who may or may not know his *** from his elbow is somehow considered an authority. :rolleyes2:

fans taking opinions of other teams fans.....brilliance.

I think some people search for reasons just to HATE any move this team makes.

They're vastly outnumbered by people who search for reasons to LOVE any move this team makes.

Given the state of the team, which side would you say has been right more often?

Oh, wait. That one answers itself.

How are we suppose to be positive when we have been eating on a **** sandwich ever since Shula left?? It's been one idiotic thing after another with this team. We have suffered through numerous worthless coaches and systems and have had more crap players and busts then we care to admit. At this point all we can hope for is to not suck quite as bad as the previous season.

maybe zimmer didn't buy in to being jeff irelands whipping boy...who knows

I had read somewhere today that they didn't like Zimmer because of how "blunt" he was at the interview. To me, that means he told them how it was and they didn't like his strong personality.

Or that after thinking it over Zimmer decided he didn't want to coach here after all (Marc Kohn has reported that Zimmer's friends in the league advised him not to take the Dolphins job) and the Dolphins invented this "he's too blunt" line of crap to make it seem like they dumped him instead.

what's funny is I was reading a couple fan forums for Denver (Orange Mane, Mile High Report) and they're a bit more even keel on McCoy. They said they got frustrated with his playcalling, but they feel if he leaves it would spell bad news for their offense.

That's probably what really happened. Just think about how the Dolphins use to be such a marquee franchise to come and work for, now we're just a joke.
