What can we (the fans) do really? I have an idea...

What cause would you rally behind? Possibly help fund/protest for?

The vast majority of us are in absolute disgust. While we may all differ in our opinions as to WHAT the problems are...we can all recognize that serious problems DO exist with our beloved Miami Dolphins. At the seasons end - there is nothing worse than the feeling that we will be right where we find ourselves right now exactly a year from now. What can we possibly do to help our team so that this does not happen?

I mean...can we actually DO anything? In all seriousness...no. We cannot make a direct impact. That power resides in the man that MANY of us believe to be an inept owner, a GM who inherited a mess, and a coach that many of us believe to be part of the problem as well. However...we CAN apply pressure on them through our actions. We CAN get the media to take notice and perhaps they will make our agenda their own.

Who is with me? Who is sick of just venting on Fin heaven, witnessing others do the same, and engaging in pointless debates that will amount to absolutely nothing?

Im calling on every fan to be an active ingredient to MAKING OUR VOICES heard. Do we have PASSION as a fan base? Let's show the NFL that we do. I've seen airplanes and billboards carrying messages, people protesting in massive numbers, and various other ways that fans have united in their sports town to make their voices heard. There is NO reason that we cannot do the same.

OBJECTIVE: To make our (the fans) voices heard. To draw media attention that will take our cause and showcase it. Ultimately, to draw others to our cause, and through massive numbers, and marketing campaigns, we make Steven Ross and his subordinates AWARE of our displeasure and inspire change in the right direction.

FIRST - we must determine our primary cause. (What change/changes are we looking for that is realistic and worthy of putting our time and energy into?) Let's debate the issues in this thread, and arrive at a general consensus of what everyone wants to see addressed the most.

SECONDLY - we need to organize a group that is willing to put time, energy, and even resources into seeing this goal realized. If I see enough support in this thread, I will reach out to all individuals by PM, and begin the establishment of a legitimate entity. Essentially, I will be organizing a "council," as it were...of individuals who will be committed to the cause - capable of funding, marketing, and organizing events that will carry our message. I will organize a more effective means of communication among ourselves (e.g. Skype, email, etc)

ITS TIME - Upon the creation of the council, we plan and execute ways to voice our cause. We recruit others to join us through the local community, social media, and other dolphins outlets. We collectively fund effective marketing techniques, e.g. Billboards, plane messages, etc. and organize protests in massive numbers. We attempt to reach the attention of the local media by all means - effectively having them make OUR agenda their own. This is our grand goal.

If we succeed then we might ACTUALLY put pressure on Ross and indirectly have an impact on our team... I welcome any of you to make this thread a place for you to network, and organize ways of making your own causes a reality.

You might ask how a guy in Hawaii thinks he can organize fans in the Atlantic. Well... I am an accomplished entrepreneur, and quite used to conducting my business overseas. Besides financial support, I think I have a lot to offer...but I need you locals to help make this all a reality.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So...on to it. What is our main potential causes to rally for? I have a few ideas...

- Steven Ross to sell the team. "He cares more about michigan than us," "congrats on getting Harbaugh to Michigan Ross, but have you forgot your own team?" Etc. would be effective ways to get the media intrigued with a story. Of course, it's a pipe dream that he will sell...lol, but it's a way to pressure him to listen to whatever other thing we want addressed.

- Fire Joe Philbin...not realistic again...but we can mostly all agree he has lost the locker room, and is inept as a game day coach.

- Fire Coyle ...absolutely pathetic in crunch time and December was a disaster. Geno tearing us up is final straw.

- Cut/trade the traitor Mike Wallace.

****What are your thoughts? Please do not make this a debate over the causes themselves - but rather - WHAT cause is worthy to rally behind and will get the most support?

I renewed my season tickets for '15 and got some new Dolphins gear for Christmas. Hope that helps.

TBH I respect what you are doing here, but NFL football is not worth all of your time and energy....

first thing is fire coyle. that is a must for this team to atleast make the playoffs.
second philbin needs to evaluate himself and grow a pair.
I wouldn't mind cutting Wallace after the june 1 cuts if we can draft a difference maker. or atleast see if he will restructure so we can trade him to a team he would like to play for

buy a billboard.
show up with bags on your head and shout your disgust in front of the media/dolphins building
Get Mike Wallace to buy you that billboard. He can afford it.

aha all good ideas - esp. the "Wallace funding it" idea :)

Well if you start a gofundme type of account for a billboard I might pitch in. How much energy would that take? The billboard would read " Please sell the team Mr Ross." He seems like a nice guy (got to meet him once) but I truly don't think his heart is in it. quality personnel won't come to a halfhearted franchise. Incidentally I wonder what fan-bases like the Browns would do if they saw perennial 8-8 Miami Dolphins fans revolting by posting billboards and No-showing at the games haha.

It all starts at the top, no doubt... But i would love to not see Failbin's stupid, expressionless, bring nothing to the table looking face for another 16 games... I just can't do it for another year... Let the GM bring his own coach in and defensive staff... I like Lazor alot but can't stand Coyle and Failbin... So down with Philbin cause Ross aint sellin

Fund a movie called "the interview2"(head of the Snake)!

Also I think Wallace needs to stay... I know he came off as a bitchy little school girl to end the season, but I think it's because he is passionate about winning. He just doesn't know how to show it properly I suppose. I'm tired of watching quality players going to other teams. We're supposed to be accumulating good players, not sending em through a revolving door.

Props for taking this initiative. I'm not sure what exactly is the right solution, but drawing attention to the fans disapproval of our head coach is a must. I absolutely am not looking forward to philbin leading us to another year of irrelevence

He'll sell if he starts losing money. I don't think you could get enough fans to respond by not buying tickets, watching games, buying merchandise, etc though.

Nothing you can do is going to change things now. Right now, you just have to have the hope that we have a good off-season that sets us up for success in 2015. That's all you've got right now, hope. Hope that Joe Philbin and Mike Wallace and Bill Lazor and Ryan Tannehill and whoever else can patch things up and not create another hole on our roster. Hope that Dennis Hickey can fill the holes we do have.

I know it sucks. My honest suggestion, is to try to find some kind of passion in your life that you can exercise control over, and dive into that. Take up a hobby, or a sport. Study something. Learn a language. Read books. Nothing in this life will eat you up faster than getting real upset about things that you can't control. I've got a number of ailing people in my family right now and it's just the absolute worst feeling in the world to know that I can't do a damned thing except make sure that someone else is doing things to care for them. Get your mind off of it.

Don't let a ****ty football team get you this upset. It's not worth the toll on your physical or emotional well-being. But if you do want to send a message, don't buy tickets. Don't buy merchandise. And write Tom Garfinkel a letter. Seriously.
