Doing them at different times is great. It shows the changing attitudes.

first off, Torrets, why don't you settle down... second, try and think outside the box.. I love Ricky... but he's 29 next year, and there is value there... however, if you feel ALL our current veterans over 29 are the answer to the promised land, you really need to think again...

29 is not old. At his salary, Ricky is worth far more to Miami than anything they could hope to get in return.

If he sweetens a deal for a Qb then his worth in a trade is far more than what he currently is on the team.

A deal with who? The consensus around here is if the team plans to trade for a QB they should go after Rivers. What would SD need Ricky for? They already have the best back in the league. When you consider his ability compared to his salary, the guy is a steal.

If somebody offered us a third-round pick for Ricky Williams, and we agreed to take it, what in the world makes you think that whoever we drafted with that third-round pick will definitely not blossom into a bonafide superstar at his position? After all, Jason Taylor was once a third-round pick. Zach Thomas was a fifth-round pick. Hell, Tom Brady was a sixth-round pick. The list goes on and on...

I'd definitely trade Ricky Williams for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He's 29 years old (His days are numbered, and he might just walk away from football after his current contract is up), and Ronnie Brown is a monster who can handle the load on his own (We have a capable backup in Morris).

It is for a Running Back. But I would still keep him, an older Running back can still be very effective in limited carries.

well, in all fairness, he did take a year off from the pounding, so his legs are slightly fresher than most 29 year old rb's...that might be cancelled out by his insane amount of carries in the 2 years before though.

You just listed the main reason why Ricky won't fetch a 2nd or 3rd. He may just walk away...Miami is not the only team that knows this. I disagree that 29 is old for a RB. He's only in what, his 6th season?

For every 3rd or 5th or 6th rounder you name who went on to become a solid player, we could list 50 or 60 who did nothing and didn't last more than a year or 2 in the league.

A team might be willing to give up a 3rd round pick IF Williams agreed to sign a long-term contract prior to the trade...

If we don't make solid decisions in the draft over the next few years, we're not going to win a Super Bowl with Saban. I trust Saban, and feel he's more likely than most coaches to hit upon some real gems in the near-future.
