Vikings | Team acquires J. Allen, agrees to terms on contract
Tue, 22 Apr 2008 21:14:13 -0700
Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a contract with Kansas City Chiefs DE Jared Allen. The Vikings will give the Chiefs their 2008 first-round draft pick, two third-round picks and the teams will swap sixth-round picks with the Vikings acquiring Allen. Allen has also agreed to terms on a six-year deal worth just under $74 million with $31,000,069 guaranteed. No. 69 is his jersey number.

Holy Hanna...And with him one problem away from a long suspension...And with the number 69 jersey...I sure hope he kisses them afterwards!! :sidelol:

This should help the Dolphins with their second round pick...and IF they are going to trade J. Taylor...the price just went up!

John Clayton of ESPN reports the St. Louis Rams have been in trade talks with the New York Jets regarding switching places in round one.

I would think Ryan.

yep

The Rams have reportedly exchanged trade ideas with the Jets, who hold the No. 6 overall pick in the draft.
New York may want to get in front of Atlanta to secure Matt Ryan. St. Louis is open for business and in great position to make a move. The Rams could also try to sign Glenn Dorsey before Saturday. With Jake Long out of the picture, ESPN's John Clayton says Dorsey is the top player on their board. Apr. 22 - 6:54 pm et

If this report is true, then this tells me that all the DMC stuff was a gigantic smokescreen

Holy Crap!!! Minnesota just sold the farm for Jared Allen!

Well u gotta figure Jared Allen value wise is a top 5 pick with his age and performance.

So pretty much u could say

Minny traded the 17 and 2 third rounders

to

KC for a #5 value pick . . . so it doesn't look so bad. Only difference is you rather get a Jared Allen in Free Agency so u can keep your picks . . . but that option wasn't available . . . I don't think it was THAT bad of a trade . . . still KC got a GREAT deal.

i think its a great deal for both sides! the vikings just mega upgraded and now they have a d-line of absolute beasts - and KC get a bucketload of draft picks to rebuild their garbage team - its win-win

I think what this allows KC to do is.

Draft BPA at #5 . . . whether they like Matt Ryan . . . or Sedrick Ellis . . . or Gholston/Long/Dorsey (depending on who is there) . . . or if they have a OL that have ranked super high.

I think they will leave there #17 for OL . . . Williams/Otah/Clady/Albert

They also have the ammo to trade up back into the first round if they are eyeing a guy that a team like Miami wants at 32

Not to rain on the Jake Long lovefest, but I hope we aren't one day regretting where Matt Ryan ends up playing.

Correct. They are trying to leap the Falcons in order to take Ryan.

I dont think so I bet it is for McFadden at two.

Because Ryan will be there at 6 for them

Rams - Long
ATL - Dorsey
Chiefs - Albert (or Gholston I guess)
Raiders - Could take McFadden - so there you have it the reason for thier move

PFT agrees with you. They seem to think the Jets are trying to move up for McFadden.
