What did Pats do to take Clay away?

Clay caught the most important pass of the day on that 4th and 5, the pass was thrown a little behind him, but he was able to catch it, slipped and picked up an amazing first down.

Great throw, great catch, great yards after the catch. It was the game saving 4th and 5! Without this 5 yards, we would have lost.

I don't know, but if I were a defensinve coordinator, I would take away Hartline from Tannehill... it seems that he gets rolling only when he knows he can could on him with big catches.

Actually, I think this was truer at the begining of the season, Wallace and Matthews are stepping up, but especially Clay! Love where this team is going if things progress as they are..

I think the coaches had Tannehill make a great adjustment in the 2nd quarter.

The Pats were pressing every one and jumping in front of receivers. Tannehill was not going to throw hard passes and get completions. All of a sudden, the passes started arcing over the top of coverage past the press. It happened for the rest of the game. That last pass to Mathews was the same thing.

Once those passes started getting thrown, and completed, the Pats had to adjust and the lasers started hitting too.

Pats have been playing zone a lot lately, and this game they switched to man coverage with Taliban on clay(Taliban also shut down Graham this season).

It backfired though, because all of our WRs had man coverage all game, and they won matchup after matchup. One thing I've noticed is that on the right side, either clay or Wallace usually benefit while teams try to take away one. When Wallace dictates the coverage, clay eats, when teams focus on clay, Wallace eats.

Sherman has done a nice job in setting that up.

On the side, hartline and Matthews have been putting a clinic on teams, the stats don't jump, but they are getting 1st down after 1st down. Seems one side is for our chain movers, other side is for big plays.
