I know we had to do something with Rod Wright and Doug Eckels by a certain time but havent heard.Anyone know?:dolphins:

never heard of Doug Eckelsby.....r u talking about Kyle Eckel??

Rod Wright...as u know was injured with a rotator cuff injury, it seems that we didnt promote him to active roster. if i was Saban, i wouldnt. id give him the time he needs to heal, bring him back in camp next year....

is it true that Rod Wright would have been a first day pick if he didnt get hurt???

Rod Wright had somewhat of a disappointing senior year (at least somewhat as a result of his rotator cuff injury), but I remember seeing him ranked as a mid to high first round prospect after his excellent junior year.

im pretty sure he was first team all american, captain and starting D tackle for the national champions. 100% he would have been gone in the first day if it were not for the shoulder. maybe not high 1st round, but first day for sure.

eckel is on a roster excemption from the nfl commissioner because of his service in the navy and probably will be for the rest of the season. i cannot wait for him to play for us next season he is an absolute beast and looks like the next A-Train, mike alstott.

Rod Wright is going to be a beast for us, can't wait to see him on the field. Saban really stole him in the late rounds. Says loads about Saban building for the long term, not just this season.

At the end of the regular season, he was rated at the end of the first round. The more teams broke down his film, saw him work out, and poked and prodded him, the further he slipped. But it was the shoulder injury that knocked him out of the first day.

I didn't like reading the scouting report on Rod Wright. It says he's NOT a hell bent for leather player, plays too soft, too upright (negating any strength) and didn't dominate anyone like he should've been able to do. A classic underachiever who seems unmotivated. He needs a major fire lit under him. Too often in the NFL these guys fizzle out in a few years because they simply don't have the work ethic that's required to be successful.
