what did you see in our first preseason game?

You can't say Marlon Moore is the odd man out .He could be but then next week Wallace could be.Both these guys stood out in the game. Its gonna be a difficult position to cut either one.Harline is defenitly your number two followed by Bess and then Gates.AJ Edds is defenitly your backup and so is Trusnick followed by Spitler. The starter Burnett better watch his back by either Edds or Trusnick..

I was at the game and in my humble opinion, Henne was his usual inconsistent self. His first interception was both his fault and Fasano's. Henne threw behind Fasano instead of leading him and Fasano also appeared to be starled when the ball hit him. Henne's other interception was Henne making the usual bad reads. Henne did have a pretty pass to Hartline, and he made a couple of decent passes to Bess. I missed the pass to Thomas (must have been oogling the cheerleaders). The running game was nonexistent until the Atlanta'a second string came in. I did see Miami use an empty backfield a few times, so that was refreshing. I liked Grisby more than Sheets, Grisby was very shifty, difficult to tackle. The first string line failed to open any holes for Thomas so I couldn't really judge how good or bad Thomas might be. The defense was a let down when the first string was in. They could not stop the run and they could not stop the pass. I liked Livas, that guy slipped on at least 3 returns or otherwise he would have had huge yards. Moore was okay, hard to judge how good he might be since he was playing Atl's second/third string. In summary, Henne looked herky-jerky and Ryan looked smooth and fluid.

All the guy does is drop passes. Wallace is better, and Livas is probably going to make the roster as a return specialist. Marlon Moore is good as gone imo.

Matt Moore has no pressure on him. That is what I notice. He has to make up time and I am pleased he looks good in a basic sense. If people want to see Moore go against first stringers, i say go for it. But just be fair in assessment. You cant play cheerleader just because you hate henne. The team just did not bring a "lets show the world" kind of game tonight. They were just letting it fly. Also, not hearing about Oconnell or Devlin much, I bet they get more PT next game so less reps for moore.

I thought it was a given that Matt Moore would be starting by the next game - and certainly for week 1.

I'm not a Henne hater but the bottom line is that he is what he is - a stiff and robotic QB who throws more picks than TD (19 to 15 last year, 2 to 1 last night).

Matt Moore looked looser and more natural out there. I think we need to see how he's look with Marshall and Bush and our 1st string OL.

Wow its people like you that seem to know nothing about football that make this site unbareable at times. The ball hit Fasano in the chest, right on the 0. I play in a co ed flag football team as the QB and i have girls on my team that make that catch. A half way decent TE makes that catch every time. Fasano is 100% to blame for that play not henne. Now on the other pick Henne made a totally boneheaded throw that was 100% his fault. Im not a big Henne guy but come on stop trying to find stupid **** to blame on him. His one hartline TD pass was one of the better passes he has made since being the starter here.

Nice writeup franchise. Thanks! It tells me alot since I wasnt able to watch the game. I will be watching the replay at 1 today and will be looking out for things you mentioned.

I agree with part of what you say. But generally agree.

I do not think Henne played well. His INT was a bad pass, and he made some late throws as he usually does. He also checks down way too much. By comparison, Matt Moore was finding and hitting WRs 10-15 yards down field and moving the ball. You really didnt speak about Moore who played very well. I was impressed with Moore's accuracy. Even on his deep INT he threw the ball on the spot...just threw it into triple coverage which was a bad decision. What was your take on Moore's performance?

I also disgaree with your assesment of Daniel Thomas. Looked slow and indecisive to me. No real POP or burst of speed when he ran the ball. I did like his receiving abilities.

I also like Marlon Moore and Roberta Wallace. I think all the young WRs had good games.

Thanks for your assessment and I look forward to your follow up and assessment next week.

Thank you! The first int was a terrible pass too! It was late in the route, behind Fassano and thrown to hard vintage Henne. Every analyst saw it yet come around here and it is the standard they hate us and haters hate to hate!

What one announcer said that?

First of all, I'm not convinced Moore is the answer, I'm just pretty convinced Henne isn't. IMO, Moore showed enough ability, poise, and accuracy to earn a chance with the first string offense, while Henne didn't do enough to protect starting status. Moore did have pressure on him on multiple occasions, and either evaded the pressure or stood in and delivered the throw. Also, remember that not only was he playing against lesser talent, he was also playing with lesser talent.

I know pre-season, and I'm not one to go crazy over a good performance against scrubs (see Livas). And I dearly wish we had a better option at qb to compete with Henne. I'm just saying 1. Moore's the only other option we have and, 2. He showed enough to make me want to see him with the first team. If he crashes and burns, so be it. At least we explored some other option than the below average guy we had last year.

Fasano caused the interception 100%. However part of Henne's problem is he does not consistently put the ball in a good spot for his receivers. He throws so the receiver has to reach behind or slow down to make catches. It costs us YAC every game. So while the interception was definitely not his fault it was still not a great throw.

i watched him...he looked fine...2 of the falcons big running plays were a direct result of langford and starks getting washed out...i'm not concerned with the dline vs the run...i'm concerned that we look a little light in the pants to take on and shed lineman and to be stout at ilb...kevin burnett looks awfully lean to me
