now that the Pats have taken everyone......Is there anyone left??? Kevin Curtis intriguing? How bout the draft???? Will Teddy Ginn be a very good WR and PR/KR in the NFL.....thoughts.....

We are really starting to screw this position up. We have Stallworth and Washington in our lap, and the best we can do is Kelly Campbell? Pathetic.

im a bit disappointed but i think drafting a WR in round 2 or 3 will be the answer.....after clavin johnson no one knows for sure who's gonna be the best wideout.....Teddy ginn could be a bust at 9....so why not address o line with 9....or another position with a cant miss prospect (landry) and then go after a guy in round 2

McDonald from the Rams...

That would be my route, or maybe Curtis.

draft 1 in the first 2 picks. not that hard. this draft is littered at the top with good WR prospects. with Dewayne Jarrett, Dewayne Bowe, Ted Ginn, Sidney Rice, Robert Meachem all clumped together, who knows how they end up in the draft, but chances are, one of them will be there at 40, and we should pick that one.

Why is this supposed to be our biggest need

First off i agree that Chambers can be inconsistent but too his defense he has been in several systems with a bunch of different qb's. Also with wes gone it is time to see what Derek Hagan can do. Now i know everyone is gonna start saying he drops too many passes but he did seem to get open enough when we used him. He was a Rookie last year after all and how often do you see a rookie wideout shine save for Randy Moss and probably Calvin Johnson this year. I think we keep the two guys Chambers and Booker around one more time,Slide hagan to No. 3 and work him in at 1 and allow chambers to work in the slot. Finally move Vick up to no 4 and really give him a chance at punt and kick returns. I just think we could do better at no 9 and the other 2 2nd rounders then adressing that position. i would like to see one OL pickup with them and maybe Okoye or some higher end CB with those picks.:bighug:

I hate to say it, but I think we may be fairly set at the position for this year. While I know some think we should, I don't see the FO taking a WR with the #9 pick (unless CJ were to drop by some miracle). Maybe our #2 second round choice, but I think they had other plans for that too. Wonder if they just may settle for what we have this year and bulk up at other spots and address it next year (f/a or draft) ? I'm not pushing for that, but I think they have other goals with this year's draft than WR. Unless I'm wrong about this. It also may depend on who comes available via F/A next year and in the draft next year ? If we trade down, we could pick up another pick or two and use one of those to address it. Who knows, it's all guessing at this point!

do you want to bank all that on Hagan improving his hands that quickly though? Marty Booker has been injury prone his whole career. add that to the fact that our #2 & 3 WRs have problems doing their #1 job in catching the ball. and that tells us we need a good WR in the mix. if marty goes down, who is the #3? kelly campbell? we dont have a very good receiving TE so our WRs are that much more important.

Throw Ronnie the ball more.

I like the idea of going after Moss. If that doesn't work, then get a WR with one of the first two picks in the draft. OR... you could get crazy and trade up to get Johnson - best WR in the draft. But that would be extremely costly. Don't see that happening.

Trade for Moss, draft Ginn Jr., or get a WR in the 2nd round.

i think the FO will address the position one way or another......i dont think we're set at the position.....SIdney Rice is another prospect that has a ton of upside althoguh he's still a bit raw....he might be there at 60 and he might be the steal of the draft...for those that dont know he was a WR at SOuth Carolina

i rather get a WR in the 2nd...if not get randy moss (for cheap only) or if not then draft Ginn or Meachem

I'm surprised to hear some people not wanting to give up a 2nd for Moss. A couple years ago before he went to LA, you would have been all over him. What's changed? Moss is still pretty young. He has experience in the NFL, and woul dbe back with C-Pep. That sounds perfect to me. Grabbing a WR in the 2nd round is never a sure thing.

Booker to the left sie of he filed..chambers slot..davis (or david) our Te..now..the right side..hagan and..who?
So commin to think about this..we only need one reciever (we NEED only one) but it woudl be nice to have some younger guys..If we dont draft tedd ginn jr..I see Vick as a back-up WR an KR/PR.
Amy thoughts?
