What do Feeley and Brady have in common?

There is a tiny problem with your comparison. The fact that Brady was a rookie then and had never played an entire game in the NFL and AJ started half of the season last year kind of throws the comparison right out the window.

THANK YOU!!!

I would jump for joy to see AJ turn into the next Tom Brady

But why do people STILL act like he is a rookie?? He is 28 and in his 5th year in the league!!! There is a huuuuuuuge difference there.

AJ HAS started - and didn't look anything like Brady.

But hey maybe AJ can come in this year and win rookie of the year.

As far as I know, Brady replaced Brian Griese in Michigan. Brian is a very accurate, winning QB. Brady started and played a lot & won a lot in college.

Feeley didn't play a lot in college, that's why I find this constant optimism about him so confusing. He didn't play a lot in college, as far as I know he didn't look all that good either.

He occasionally makes a good throw, but he makes many more bad throws. He never seems like he's on the same page as his reciever, and the most important thing, he reacts VERY BADLY whenever he makes a mistake. (Which is frequently). He ends up looking lost & confused with a "that's not fair" look on his face. Not exactly the look of someone you want leading your team to victory over adversity. :fire:

not sure if you know much about football but your roster has to be cut down to 53 players when the season starts...who do you suggest the fins cut?
ill send you my answer in a PM in case we end up going back n forth on this subject when it has more to do with another thread. still, no matter who they cut its not uncommon for a team at this stage to keep four QBs, Bucky.

going by finheavens roster and depth chart (i can only come up with 11 right now, Sport) :

Josh Davis
Rodney Reed
Jason Thompson

Orrin Thompson

Deandre Eiland

Kris Richard

Danny Farmer

Reggie Rhodes

Sh. Mitchell

Chris Akins

Lamar Gordon (via trade if we can for 2006 pick)

* one or two of those tight ends will have to go ... i dont know which one(s).

what do you say?

you can send it PM this way we dont stink up the thread. Ok Kip?

they both help New England win football games!

This is very funny, actually, but don't forget Feeley did help us beat the Patriots last year! :rofl3:

It would be nice to see Feeley become the next big QB rags-to-Super-Bowl-riches story. At this point, what else do we have to look forward to QB wise this year?

I'll admit he played pretty well in that game. But it was our defense and/or Brady's f*ck ups that ultimately lead to Thompson (?) catching that backpeddling prayer from Feeley for the game...

it was the best moment of the year though, wasn't it?

Good performances during preseason against 3rd and fodder stringers. At least if you compare Brady's Rookie Season to Feeley's current season. The reason I have bothered to go through this trouble is because many people are pooh-poohing Aj's success because it has come against 3rd or worse stringers. While I in no way think AJ is a Tom Brady, I just wanted to point out the fact that before he was a starter, he had to play against third stringers, and he did about the same as AJ. (I would almost compare Brock and Brady, but we have only seen brock for two games, aw, heck, I'll throw brock's statistics up here too.)

So in essence, I don't care what his competetion is, he is playing the way he has to, and he is taking what is given.

Oh and sorry about starting yet another feeley thread, but at least I put some effort into this one and not just an opinion!:D

A look at Brady's Rookie preseason statistics.

AJ Feeley 6-13-0-1-60

last I checked AJ is no longer a rooki so the comparison is way off base.

Don't really think it's fair to characterize Feeley's college career as such. He was the star of that team until he got hurt. When he got hurt, this guy aptly named Joey Harrington stepped in and as Saban says "took the proverbial bull by the horns." Harrington took over the job, the state of Oregon, and a lot of College football. The irony is that Harrington has played worse that AJ in the NFL, and he's in big trouble in Detroit. So don't simply put like Feeley couldn't cut it in college. He ran into some serious bad luck.
