0 super bowl rings.

Everyone is on the high powered passing attack bandwagon, but the fact is defense and a sound running game still wins championships. The Dolphins definitely need a weapon at WR, but I would say shoring up the defense in the draft is more important. Giving up a ton of pics for Boldin would be a bad move. I WR is NEVER the difference between a good team and a championship team. In fAct since BrAdy got weapons, they have failed to do whAt they did thrice with a crappy receiving corps. Coincidence?

Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson are both very young and both are cornerstones in a rebuilding process.

TO isn't that good, everyone knows he's a distraction.

Fitzgerald is young and has been in the playoffs what twice?

In Moss' sole superbowl appearance, he had a TD.

WR's aren't everything, but they sure do help. It's not these guys' faults that they don't have superbowl rings.

Agreed. NE has a top 3 passing attack, but their D sucks. When they were SB winners, they were a top 3 D and a balanced attacker. However, some of the WR's you listed are young and still have many years to get a ring.

I agree that a good running attack and a good defense is far better than a good passing game, but it's not these recievers' fault that they have not won a superbowl. The one that's most at fault would be TO, and even then that's arguable.

It's the defenses fault. The Pats could not stop the Giant's game winning drive in the SB. The Cardinals couldn't stop the Steeler's game winning drive in the SB. And so on....

exactly. it takes a balanced offense to win super bowls

Please don't put T.O. and Marshall in the same sentence as those other receivers. They're not even close to being in the same level of Moss, Fitzgerald, Andre and Calvin.

Miami has a good offense. We're the 3rd best rushing team in the league. We have a top 10 O-line. We have a promising young QB. We have serviceable WR's. We have decent TE's. The best teams have #1 WR's that people have to prepare for. We lack this. We lack play makers.
Get a #1 WR and a playmaking TE and this offense is set.

I think in 2010, we'll have a good offense and a solid defense. In 2011, we'll have a good offense and an elite defense.

2011 is our SB year IMO.

Moss - 1264 yards, 13 TDs
Fitz - 1092 yards, 13 TDs
Andre - 1569 yards, 9 TDs
Calvin - 984 yards, 5 TDs

Marshall - 1120 yards, 10 TDs
TO - 829 yards, 5 TDs

Marshall fits nicely with the other recievers.
TO SUCKS!

Good, we'll win a superbowl before the world ends in 2012.

:lol2: Yeah right.

Why not? That's in 2 years. If this team is not great with 4 years of rebuilding, then this regime is a failure. If not 2011, then in 2012. The world will not end.

There isnt one thing that you can point out and say thats what you need to win a super bowl. There are counter examples for each position you choose whether it be quarterback, wideout, defense, etc. I've witnessed Trent Dilfer win a superbowl, anything can happen in any given year.

None of them play for the Fins.
