I've been more down on Philbin than Tannehill and yesterday's game didn't do much to move the needle for me. I still think he is in over his head and want him replaced after the season.

In order for me to change my stance, Philbin needs to lead this team to a playoff VICTORY.

Simply making the playoffs isn't enough because the AFC is weak and we've seen many subpar coaches make the playoffs only to get trounced and never really achieve much higher success. Win a playoff game and I'll support Joe going forward.

How about you?

It remains to be seen if they are the answers, and I have some doubts about both, but I support them. I think we need to make the playoffs for both of them to secure their jobs long-term, but I'll stop short of making ultimatums like "playoffs or clean house". You never know what can happen over 12 games.

There is nothing Philbin can do at this point... there are certain guys that are just not meant to be a HC.. and he is one of them. Its a shame.. i hear he is an amazingly good man but he is not a leader of men... we need to move on regardless.

We won yesterday in spite of Philbin.. that was all Tannehill and Lazor.

When it comes to RT.. he is who he is... a good QB who can play great... if the coaches actually play to his strengths and hide his weaknesses. I have been in the Tannehill fan club since day 1 and have never waivered.

Win 8 more games, make the playoffs...

Tannehill needs to play consistently like yesterday to make me a believer. Philbin meh - he does not appear to be a good motivator and w bully gate, the QB controversy thing, OCD over gum wrappers, untied shoelaces and guys who have small bladders = control freak and micromanager - not a good leader. Better coach than Morono but that's a very low bar.

Apparently for some people they need to never lose a game and win 3 super bowls in a row

At this point Ryan is doing exactly what he needs to do. He will have good games and bad games but he needs to show improvement. As for Philbin there is nothing he can do. If we go on the win the superbowl it will be in spite of him not because of him. I don't think he is a leader and I want him replaced. I said it before the season and there is nothing that is going to change my mind.

I could have an accident and Philbin pull me from a flaming car, and my response would be "thanks for pulling me from the fire, now please quit as head coach".

For Philbin that wouldn't matter. If we won 3 super bowls it wouldn't be because of any thing he did.

For Philbin......Go and become the Head Coach/GM for the Jets!

Lolz. A lot of people use this phrase "in spite of" without knowing what it actually means. This is an example of how its supposed to be used: week 1 we won the game in spite of poor QB play. How can anybody say we won in spite of Philbin yesterday? Oh, because the media suggested he made a boo-boo, that he dug himself into a hole? Maybe the hole wasn't real, maybe it was just a figment. Maybe the hole was real but he coached his way out of it. Predicting something will happen and being wrong about that prediction does not necessarily mean it happened in spite of so and so. Maybe your prediction was just simply wrong.

Last year the team was 8-6 and one win out of the playoffs in spite of:

-below average QB play
-devastating injuries
-half of our o-line evaporating due to a scandal. (Are any of the guys we finished the season with playing anywhere in the league right now?)
-no running game
-horrible LB play
-our field goal kicker got hurt and went to ****
-basically a red shirted draft class including the guy we traded up to 3 for

In the NFL it's really hard to do anything in spite of below average QB play and a terrible GM. Philbin's system was almost able to overcome that stuff.

Make it to the playoffs, and make noise when they get there. The Dolphins have been mediocre long enough. It is time for them to take things to the next level.

Consistency is all I want and what both parties have yet to prove.

Philbin: I'll never say never, but it'll be tough for him to win me back. Maybe if we sweep our remaining division games, and have a good playoff showing, and we get some kind of evidence that this whole controversy was actually part of some meticulous Philbin master plan and not Joe bungling the media like an idiot. So he would have to do a lot, yeah.

Tannehill: Consistently put together the games he's capable of. That's it. I'm still a believer, and I think Bill Lazor will get him there.

Tannehill to play more consistent. Can't have these huge peaks and valleys.
