The NFL Players Union has filed a grievance against the Titans, accusing the team of breaching its contract with quarterback Steve Mcnair by barring him from the team's practice facility last week

I wouldnt mind having Mcnair as a backup if he would accept that role.:dolphins:

That would be ideal, but he probably wants to start and would cost us way too much $$$$$. It would be sweet though!!!!!!

Baltimore is going to be all over McNair if/when he gets released.

I think Miami has three options we are looking at:

1. Joey Harrington
2. Jamie Martin
3. Tommy Maddox

I still think in the end, Harrington is going to end up here at the price of a 2007 6th round pick.

Here is the latest on the QB search from Clayton:

It's becoming pretty clear that Jamie Martin is the main No. 2 QB option for most teams. The Dolphins want him if they can't get Joey Harrington in a trade from the Lions. The Bengals also want him if they can't get Harrington. On Tuesday, Martin will visit Seattle. The Seahawks have been looking for a veteran backup since last year. The Bengals are trying to get him on a minimal one-year deal to bide time until Carson Palmer fully recovers from his knee surgery.
It will be interesting to see how Harrington handles his situation. He's worked out a contract with the Dolphins, but still remains on the radar screen for several other teams, including the Bengals and Broncos. The Lions still want a third- or a fourth-round choice for Harrington, but the best offer they have is a sixth-round pick from the Bengals. The Dolphins are talking about a sixth-rounder in 2007. If Harrington sticks to his guns, though, he could tell the Lions he will wait until June when he's due a $4 million bonus, which the Lions won't pay, so they would have to release him then. Unfortunately, the process will take some time.

I wonder how much money it would take to get him. especially if the titans are required to give him the 50 MILLION dollar bonus he is owed. Maybe money wouldn't be such a big issue if he just won the lottery lol.

Jesus that would kill their cap. If that happened forget Arrington, I would rather have Keith Bulluck!

Is there any chance him moving to the Ravens would make Boller available?

I'd take Boller as a backup. has shown more than harrington IMO

I think he has as well. I think Harrington still has a chance to show he can be a starter in the right (non-WCO) system, but Boller is destined to be a backup the rest of his career. They're really different animals. Harrington is a guy you gamble on with a 2 year deal hoping you can move him next year. Boller would be a guy you lock up for 3 or 4 years as a backup.

Tommy Maddox is far from my personal option...id rather have Jay Fiedler back than him. I got my hopes riding on Harrington. I dont know much of Martin but Ill take the unknown over Maddox.

I'd rather pass on McNair. He's on his last leg and hate to see that leg break and we are stuck with Lemon if Pep is not ready.

So theres no confidence in Lemon to hold the fort even if it were only for 3 weeks?

I think Boller is a better player than Harrington and he actually can become a starter. Boller has missed too much time due to injury to make a decision on whether he can become a starter. Harrington and Boller both have ability and neither has been in an ideal situation for a young Qb but I am blinded by Boller's physical ability that I neglect to see that his results much like a Qb in this upcoming draft.

I am still not convinced on Lemon being an answer to any of the questions regarding Miami's backup QB situation. I know people have said that the Chargers spoke highly of him and held him in high regard but I remember the Eagles spoke very highly of Feeley and held Feeley in high regard also and where did that get us. Also there has been nothing said by Saban or his staff that I am aware of that is reassuring regarding Lemon and his status with the team???

Not at this time. But maybe after seeing him play in the pre-season or even training camp may change my mind. :dolphins:

wow after everyone were going after, the only one i would like to see is Jamie Martin and thats only because Ive NEVER seen the guy. Think about this.

Harrington- former 1st round pick and how many times has Detroit been in the playoffs since? Ryan Leaf anyone?

Maddox- the only thing preventing Pittsburgh from having an undefeated regular season in 04, and hes old.

McNair- Did anyone see him in the pro Bowl? I only saw him for a few plays maybe one drive, and I dont think he threw a single completion, oh wait, there was that one to the NFC. and like Maddox, hes old also.
