I really think we would still have a similar shot with Kap but since it all looks like we're getting Cutler, IMO we really are likely to fullfill Vegas' take of 7-9...

:(

Always thought Cutler was the best option for us. Gase connection with success and our strength at WR will be a huge asset to him and he has just as much arm talent as Ryan Tannehill.

Our strength at WR would of been wasted with Kap . . . it would be a frustrating game of bail the pocket for minimal gains IMO.

Still think 8-8 is a manageable floor.

Kap gives us a higher ceiling then Cutler IMO. Cutler turns it over way too much which is one good thing about Kap. He doesn't turn the ball over. You can utilize read options and Gase can make easy reads for Kap with our good WR unit.

With Kap 10-6 is possible

With Cutler I see 8-8

i honestly see 6-10, stack the box and force Jay to make crappy decisions...which is what hes good for

The line might move to 6, but it's a strong team. I can see them going 8-8 or maybe even better with a few breaks. This isn't Cam Cameron's Dolphins.

you mind explaining what youve seen from kap since the superbowl year that makes you think he would give us a shot?

I dont care about his politics, but I dont see him as a very good QB.

what games do you see as easy that we get to 6? Aside from the Bills I dont see wins on this team right now.

We were 1-4 against teams with a winning record last season.
The chiefs were 12-4, the raiders were 12-4, the broncos were 9-4, the Ravens were 8-8 and we havent beaten them with flacco, the titans were 9-7, the falcons were 11-5, the bucks were 9-7, and we have a hard time against the saints...this team still isnt there and th injury bug is killing us...

I think we will get there but i look at us now and only see the bills, chargers, and jets as teams we can beat...

I still think we're a 9-10 win team if we get Jay. His play under Gase really wasn't too different from what Tannehill did last year. That was 2 years ago, he should be healed up after basically not playing last year. The talk on this board like CK is good though is hilarious. Really though, I think we're obviously worse off without Tannehill, but Cutler should be able to come in and make things run smoothly to the point where I dont think it will cost us many/any games.

Just go watch the games and check his stat sheet. Even last year, he had a better season than 95% of those Cutler put up. His arm is just as good, he's younger, he's a competitor, he's much more mobile. Not to mention Cutler is ill with diabetes and started to become injury prone himself. IMO, if he starts week 1, we will still see Moore at QB at some point.

I wouldn't even call Cutler an athlete anymore. I bet he drinks and smokes and ****.

All the crap options are worse than Tannehill. It doesnt matter much if you have Kaep Cutler or Moore

My point is the team as a whole is much stronger than it used to be. I don't expect them to only win a few games against bad teams. It's not 2007 anymore. I expect them to beat some good teams, too.

It always matters. Getting best QB available to operate the offense gives everyone a better chance of developing more. The more games they win, the more other players, coaches, and executives will take notice. That's one way to earn the respect of your peers and make Miami a desirable destination to play.

Gase went through one season, and that has already changed. Guys want to play here and sometimes take less money. It was the opposite before. They had to overpay for players. A championship of course is the ultimate goal, but there's other important goals to hit along the way.
